We chose this hotel on the basis of other reviews, some from tripadvisor, and were not disappointed. The setting was lovely, and the hotel and grounds nicely maintained. Food was great, and if there wasn't something on the menu to our liking, they were always prepared to find an alternative. On my birthday they produced a small cake at dinner, and the waiters came to sing happy birthday, a lovely touch.
The entertainments staff, Dani and Dupont, were superb and went out of there way, organising a strenuous pool aerobic session, a trial dive in the pool, and one day Dupont took me for a bike ride showing me the local area. The bar staff were particularly attentive, and we never had to wait for a drink. The minibar in the room was another nice feature which we had not encountered with all inclusive before.
A local tour operator just round the corner Sunnytours was exceptional value giving us two day-long tours on our own in a nice new air conditioned minibus for, each for only around 2000 rupees for the pair of us.
Altogether a splendid holiday, and no regrets for our choice of hotel.

Room Tip: We had room 225 which was perfect.

My husband and I travelled here for our honeymoon. After a very long flight we were welcomed to the hotel with a drink and shoulder massage. The first room we were shown to was on the ground floor. Looked ok, not particularly special considering it was our honeymoon, but fine. That was until we got to the toilet and found an ants nest. And found ants running around everywhere. We went to reception and got moved to a room on the second floor. Gorgeous views of the sea. There were still a few ants but nowhere near as many as before.

Food was great. As it's a small hotel, there's not a massive amount of choice but everything we had was delicious. I can be a little fussy at times but always managed to fill my plate.

The pool area was lovely. I was a little disappointed that the infinity pool in the photo is surround by the bar and restaurant and isn't really used often and there are no sun loungers around this one. However, the main pool is just as nice and was a lovely temperature, nice to cool you down without being too cold as you find in so many places.

Staff are all lovely. We particularly liked Riaz, who got to know us pretty well. They all like to make your trip special and remember details about you.

All in all it was a brilliant honeymoon and we'd definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Don't pick ground floor - you'll get lots of ants

My boyfriend and I (now fiancé) visited the Veranda Paul and Virgini about a month ago. We planned this trip in January and were so excited and this was our first real vacation since we have met. We got to the hotel rather late, around 1am, as our flights from Johannesburg were delayed by almost 3 hours. Upon arrival the hotel looked lovely but being hot and tired and not having had a drink in 4 hours, it was quite disappointing that we were not even offered a nice cold juice. The lady at the desk checking us in, was helpful and friendly though. The rooms were nice and spacious.
So to cut a long story short, our holiday began. Throughout this week the following happened:
Firstly the hotel has little to almost no outside excursions they offer or can help arrange.
A taxi fare to town is unbelievably pricy. (700 rupees)
Our so-called agent, that is there to help and represent the company you booked at, was absolutely pathetic. She never showed up to meet us even though she said she was. We also inquired about extending our stay and she only got back to us 4 days later.
The reception staff has no idea of how to pass on messages. I had to go to the desk every day to find out if I had a message, and when I did have one, they said I didn’t.
The pool has no service. What a beautiful hotel but there is no service.
We had the all-inclusive package; when I went to the inside bar to get some drinks they told me they can’t help me. I have to go to the beach bar. I mean really?
The lunch menu was so restricted that it was hard to pick something that was appetizing.
After dinner the one night we moved to a table to have a cigarette and my fiancé asked the waiter for a glass of wine, only for him to say “no”, he has to go to the bar and get it himself. (note the bar was on the other side of the pool and HE WAS A WAITER).
The following morning we went to breakfast. There are about 5 tables overlooking the pool and the ocean – its really beautiful and obviously these are tables that need to be turned due to demand. As we sat down, with the table not being set, the F&B manager said we have to move because we can’t sit there. We insisted that this is where we would like to sit and he ignored us. I got up and got us all the cutlery, cups, etc. and as I was getting ready to take the coffee pot to pour us coffee someone finally came and helped us. This was absolutely shocking!! That night he came and apologized and said that they are short staffed at the moment but truthfully speaking, I am guest and do not want to know if you have problems in your hotel.
As we were approaching our last day I wanted to see the bill for the room so that we can settle our account, only to see that we were charged for drinks and services we didn’t even have. This was really the cherry on the cake.
My overall remark for this hotel is that it is absolutely beautiful with a great location and this hotel has so much potential. But the service is absolutely appalling. Would I go again? Maybe but to different resort. My advice is to definitely take the all-inclusive package as it is very pricey if you only go half board.

Room Tip: Definitely get a ground floor and take the all-inclusive package. You save a lot of money.

Dear Member of Trip Advisor, Thank you again for choosing Veranda Paul & Virginie.
We sincerely regret to take note that you did not enjoy your stay at our hotel. However, when you arrived at the hotel at 1.00am you were greeted by Wendy the Guest relation Officer with refreshing towels. Please note that two cold platters and two bottles of water were already in your room.

The next day when we met you for the information meeting and the tour around the hotel, you did not mention anything.
Also please note, that we do not organise any excursions at the hotel as ground handlers already sell the service with guests. But we do provide taxi services at a rate which are negotiable with the taxi drivers.
Concerning the extension of the stay, It is the representative who told us about your request and unfortunately it was not possible at that time due to flight issues.
Referring to the pool service, we do provide beverage services in our main bar by the pool which opens at 10.00am and closes at 11.00pm

Please also note that we have a smoking and a non a non-smoking zone in the hotel. The waiter kindly asked you to move outside the restaurant terrace or go by the bar area where you can smoke and asking at the same time if you wanted a glass or carafe of wine so that he can do the needful. But you misunderstood and believed that the waiter does not want to serve.

We are deeply concerned with the fact that you left with a mixed feelings and we do hope to be honoured in the future by your visit at the resort.

Kind Regards

I was concerned reading some of the negative reviews prior to leaving- I need not be!!!
This hotel resort is stunning! Clean, smells gorgeous, very relaxing environment. Large bedroom, bathroom (ours was superior with views onto the beach) comfy bed.
Ideal for romantic couples- my boyfriend (now fiancée) proposed in the lovely private verandah during a champagne dinner overlooking the Indian Ocean. It could not have been anymore perfect! Sanjev was our main man for the occasion and was exceptional and throughout the holiday he and Mani were superb staff members. I will clearly never forget the resort.
The only issues we had were dodgy stomachs on a few days days 4-9. The food is delicious but this was annoying!!! our room was also very dark!! no light bulbs in the main room, packing in the dark was entertaining.
If you have the opportunity to stay at this hotel please do. The seven colours spa was also highly recommended and I do like a spa!! We had a wonderful holiday the scenery is breathtaking the staff outstanding. It was exceptionally romantic and we felt very special staying here.Thank you Veranda paul et Virginie.

Having just come back from our second stay at P&V, it was even better than our first. As soon as we walked into the lobby we were recognised by the staff & made to feel "at home". Even our room door had a plaque hung on it saying "Welcome back home". The hotel is small & quiet, leading to a personal feel from the staff. Go with an open mind & an open heart & enjoy the hospitality offered by these generous people.

Room Tip: We travelled with BA holidays that gave us a "privilege" room, which has a bigger bathroom...

Thanks for a great and good value stay. Our room was great, cleaned every day with fresh towels and flowers put on the bed. View from our balcony overlooked the pool, stunning. Breakfasts were fantastic, juices, tea & coffee. Variety of fruits, and full hot breakfast. Dinners, also had a great variety of different foods each night. Fish, curries, and soups were our favourites. Special mention goes to : Man ( main waiter) for excellent service, Lindy for all her friendly, helpful assistance from the boat house, Rajshree for a beautifully cleaned room each day, and lastly Jino for organising our wonderful Island boat trip.

First time in Mauritius and came by this hotel thru BA's website. Chose it for small/quiet hotel and it was exactly that. We had a great week relaxing and enjoyed the hotel and its great staff - Bertrand, Fratima, Dergish, Rajiv to name just a few. We were initially in a superior room but they are not so good. We moved to the privilege room that was just perfect. My recommendation is to rent a car for a couple of days and explore the NE/NW coast. We will be going back to do just that.
