“Can't be bettered M&B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2013

By far 6he best holiday my wife and I have ever had. From the time we arrived met by Bola till the sad time to say goodby was wonderful. The staff could not be faulted, and were only to pleased to help. We wen't here to renew our wedding vows (50) years. Guylaine Legai the wedding co-ordinator was absolutely wonderful and could not have arranged things any better. the food was out of this world and cattered for all tastes. The A-La-Cart restaurant was one of the best we have been in. Every part of the hotel, the pools and the beach was spotless. We cannot fault Le Mauricia in any form. We stayed only for one week sadly, but wished it had been longer. We stayed from 12th to 19th november 2013. Within one week of returning back to England we have booked to return in March 2015. You won't find a better place to stay.

Room Tip: try and get a superior room. Better still we had a honeymoon suite for a special occasion. Beach vi...

We wanted a one night get-away during the kid's school break so we chose the Mauricia. We loved it so much, we extended our stay for 2 nights and would've stayed longer if we could have. We spent most of our time at the pools (there are 2 - one is shallower with a kid's area) with plenty of beach loungers and a great morning water aerobics class. The beach is small but lovely. We didn't try all the activities at the boat house, just a quick glass bottom boat ride, but the staff was friendly. The kids club wasn't the most well equiped (no climbing frames or swings) and the staff there could've been a bit more outgoing to encourage our kids to try the various activities. Our room was great - no views but we had our own outdoor terrace area and very high water pressure in the tub and separate shower. The highlights for my husband were the food and location. It's in the middle of Grand Bay so you can walk anywhere, but you won't want to skip any meals. We hit the seafood buffet on Friday night and ate our weight in Sushi! The variety was tremendous for both dinner and breakfast so half board felt like full board. My husband tried the spa but said the massage wasn't the greatest - he felt like they were more focused on trying to sell him oils than working out the knots in his back. The nightlife entertainment featured live music in the evenings and a late night disco on the weekend. I highly recommend the Mauricia - for the value it can't be beat. It's suitable for both families and couples.

Room Tip: The outdoor bar by the pool is where the live music plays on into the night so the rooms facing that...

We had a wonderfull time! As a family of 9 persons, between 2 and 60 years, the stay in that hotel was perfect for everybody of us. Many thanks to the whole staff, especially room made Danielle, waiters Anwa and Ricky, part of the reception called Bola and all the beachboys who teached us surfing and waterskiing. You all did a great job!
Hope to come Mauritius once again and to stay in Le Mauricia!

Room Tip: We booked a standard double room. It was not luxury, but comfortable and you had all you need. A rea...

My husband and myself stayed at the La Mauricia from the 7th to the 14th November 2013. From the time we booked until the time we left the service was excellent. The rooms were very clean and the choice of food was excellent. The staff have to be the most polite I have ever seen in our travel. Deepak the taxi driver is the best. Wherever you want to go he takes you and always with a smile. We will be back soon. Did not want to come home.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great. Rooms on the second floor are very quiet

Very good hotel.
My wife and I we don 't like big hotels like Le Mauriciá,but it's well done and it was not very crowdy, so it was perfect.
Very kind service, well organized beach with a lot of free activities.
The sea in front is ok,nothing special, but you can go for free to the reef barrier.
Great food and choice for brakfast
Strategic position for the village.
Only one stupid thing:for lunch you can only eat already done baguettes, ugly and incredibly expensive!
Ah,don't accept the taxi service from and for the airport that internal agency will propose.
It costs more than twice the price of regular taxi.

We and our two children (7&4) went in September. The weather was perfect that time of the year. I don't like the normal setting of a hotel, but because the Garden room (family room) was separite from the other hotel rooms, it gave you more a feling of space. The kids felt safe and enjoyed the kiddies club. The staff was very friendly and the activities was age apropiate. No need to take a lot of clothing, there is enough shops at the locals to buy. The private beach was a nice to have. At the pool there was water polo everyday and water arobics that everyone enjoyed.

We stayed here in October 2013 after selecting it on Trip Advisor. This is a very nice hotel, beautiful pools, spotlessly clean everywhere, plenty of good quality bed chairs, excellent entertainment every night (although a bit loud if you don't want it, but that's the same everywhere).
Location was excellent for us; we like to walk around at night & find lots of different bars & restaurants (but the hotel restaurant was good too) and if you come out of the hotel with the beach on your right there are plenty within easy walking distance as well as lots of street food.
The Indian restaurant located right by the hotel was very good.
We would definately stay here again - the only quibble (a minor one really) we had was that quite a few of the restaurant staff were 'unmotivated' and we had to ask for the same thing 2 or 3 times before we got it, and some of them didn't speak English, or indeed any international language - only the local Creole - and this isn't really good enough for a 4*
