The hotel is beautiful. The room we had was great, nice bathroom and private jacuzzi outside.
Place is beautifully kitted out
Managers and owners are very pleasant
House keeping staff are very efficient and talented. Eg making swans out of towels!
Laundry- five hour turnaround in one case (but see below)
Good food. If ordering wine though make sure you check the price of the bottle/glasses beforehand. The couple next to us one evening got stung badly.
Waiters are a bit robotic and not that great. A couple of times orders were taken for coffee, for example, but it never arrived!
Laundry- was disgracefully expensive. They also damaged an item which was very irritating.
Wifi not free - baffles me how 5 star resorts do not offer this as standard. Computers were available though to access the internet for free.
Must be noted that we booked through Scott Dunn, who are fine, but the company they use on the ground in Mauritius - Mautourco - are terrible. To be clear, their drivers are good, polite and knowledgable. However, at a rep level they are a disgrace. The rep we encountered 'Sonia' was useless, had poor knowledge and got a number of critical details wrong e.g. timings.
Activity-quad biking round the nature reserve in the south of the island was excellent.More
