The food in the seafood restaurant was excellent. The rooms are nice and clean. The employees are super friendly. They also organised a romantic private dinner on our request.
Overall very nice hotel.

I have just returned from a seven day stay at Anantara and what a great experience.
From the warm welcome in reception to the fantastic food and service which I experienced. It’s a young property but this place will become a haven in Mauritius. Looking forward to coming back soon .

We decided to spend my birthday weekend at this hotel and enjoy good family time. While the infrastructure is new and modern one, the service really needs improvement.

- Check In experience:
We reached the hotel at around 14h30 and got our room only at 15h30 (Check in time being 14H). We had to follow up so as needful was done to get our room. When asked if we could get a late check out to compensate we were offered free bottom glass trips (Which are already free by the way). They then agreed on late check out when i queried whether that activity was not already a free one. As we got into our room at 15h30 the floor was still wet from being mopped. We then had to wait till 16 and make a call to get our luggage in the room. This was really not convenient for us with a toddler of 3.

- Room:
The room is really nice and spacious. Bed very comfortable. Amenities provided of good quality. If you can afford the seaview go for it.

- Dining experience:
There was asian buffet the night we were there. Food quality is ok. But real issue with service. Food was not properly labelled. Dishes were over and taking a lot of time to be replenished. There was only 1 staff who was actually ensuring dishes being replenished and doing same himself. Did not get to taste things because we really did not bother anymore asking again and again.

- Kids Club
My lil one had a lovely time at the Kids Club. That is really where we saw staff being really commited to deliver exceptional service. Luxmi, Nidhi and Stephanie, a big thank you for the great time my toddler had with you all. The variety of activities proposed, your kindness. It was really perfect.

- Entertainment
There is not much to do around the hotel. There is no boathouse activities (Except the glass bottom trip) not teen club. You may enjoy badminton or tennis but nothing much. Nor any other activity organised during the day for the guests (Or if there were no staff communicated same to us). But if you like to just relax and enjoy the pool and beach it has great space for that.

To sum it, the hotel really has a great potential but sooooo much room for improvement in terms of service. Definitely not the standard of a 5*.

Improving in all areas of our newly opened Resort is something we work daily towards as well as brining in assistance to ensure we do get to the level of consistently deliver the service standards we know we should have.

I do apologise for the areas you mentioned where we did let you and your family down and it is something I have shared with the respective Managers to address. We do indeed also arrange all activities that you would expect from a Resort in Mauritius and i apologise where this was not clearly communicated to you during your stay. Communication is key, you are correct.

Stayed for 1 night at Anantara which is 5 mins drive from the airport (plane noises will not bother you). The room is clean, modern with a safe. Staff is attentive to needs. Kids friendly hotel. Food was so so. At night, the area around the reception is nicely lit. There is a library with interesting books of Mauritius. Sea water is not calm (some waves) but very clear and good for dip. There is a long stretch of white sandy beach with untouched vegetation (makes it look wild) .The hotel is good for someone who wants different beach scenery and total rest.
