Whilst in Egypt, we drove past many of the hotels listed on teletext website and they were horrible so dont even consider booking anywhere else - This hotel is the best! We made friends with one of the staff who had worked in a number of hotels in Hurghada and he said Caribbean is amazing compared to the others.
The service we rreceived here aas amazing. As soon as they know you're English, they will make you feel like royalty.
The rooms are great, had a few problems with the shower but it was fixed within an hour of us reporting the problem. The main buffet restraunt looked great, the food was ok and there was a lot on offer, however it didn't vary all that much - Still, i'm a fussy eater and I was satisfied. La Palma restraunt (Italian) and the BBQ is amazing, excellent service and great food. For lunch, you should go to the restraunt by the beach rather than the main restraunt; not as far to walk and better food.
Room was great, kept lovely and clean, had some special flowers left for me on one of the days. We were also left invites to 'English Only' meals at La Palma which were great.
The grounds are kept immaculate, there are always gardeners around and they do a great job.
If you want a sun bed, then you will need to reserve, we were at the beach by 8 and the pool by 8:30 -9 every morning and there were only a few sun beds left.
You do need to go careful when it comes to buying things, we were quoted £300 Egyptian (£30 GBP) for a black and white arafat, scarf. In the end we got 2 for £10 GBP. Make sure you haggle everything!
The resort is on its own in the middle of the desert about 45 mins from hurghada so maybe not the best place if you wish to visit the pyramids/luxor etc. However, we did go quad biking and snorkelling which we booked throough Aladdin at Hotels 4 u on our second day. The trips were amaing - well worth doing and not too expenssive!
We don't have kids but I would recommend for a family. Animation team are great, they got us involved in games on the beach which was so much fun :)
Cocktails are sooo strong, could be a good thing but I had to ask for not much alcohol. White wine was not v pleasant, beer was ok.
Go careful of the floor and the steps coming out of reception, i fell on my bum...luckily it didn't hurt but it gave my partner a good laugh!
The pictures on the resorts do not do it justice, it's so much better in real life.
Make sure you take toilet role with you to the airport on the way home or you will have to buy it from the person sat on the sink....

Just home from 11 nights 20-31 May 11. Second visit to Egypt for us and our 4 yr old son. After a lovely Thomas Cook flight of knees to your chin (squashed!) no films (ploy to get you to rent a PSP) and inflight service (buy this or i'll take your elbow off with my trolley!) we arrived in sunny Egypt. We were on a small coach which took us to our hotel. Check in was easy, Rep was there to say hi and porter took us to the room on the little buggys giving us a tour of the hotel on the way.
Room was reasonable size and clean. Cleaned daily by the male cleaner and fresh towels provided daily. He regularly asked if everything was ok and was happy to help if we needed anything.
Hotel was well maintained, gardeners out daily and the grounds were lovely. Beach was a couple of mins walk and has plenty of loungers. Russians are several hours ahead of us time wise so the buggers are out at 5- 530 with their towels! Wasn't a problem, i just got up earlier to wack my towels down first (can sleep on the loungers in the day and when you get back home!!) and got my sun loungers on the front row every day! Worth it so our little man was in view playing at the edge of the sea whilst i got some rays!
Food- We found plenty of things to eat. Admittedly it's not for everyone but fresh rolls, cheese, jams, omelettes, chicken, meats, delicious cakes to name a few. My husband put on a few pounds!! The resteraunts have to be booked but we didnt have to as once we knew the waiters/managers they invited us to eat there and would always find us a table. The italian has an English night on the Saturday which has a lovely chicken curry amongst other things. On a normal night in there the steak was yum!
Entertainment- Sorry cant say anything other than dire!! Entertainment team are rubbish, the russsians, germans, polish are in stitches and love it but its not up to to much and not geared up for English. In fact there are hardly any english people there so no wonder they dont bother!! Think there was 20 of us whilst we were there. Our 4 yrs old was the only english kid in the kids club! He loved it though and is still singing the german songs. He makes friends easily and the fact the other kids didnt speak english didnt put him off in the slightest! The girls that ran it spoke english so he was eager to go and play for a couple of hours every morning which gave us some peace!
The rep Kath is lovely, helpful and a mature lady so none of the usual falseness you get off the younger reps. She knows Egypt well and is able to help you to get the best out of your holiday. Saw her dealing with complaints and a poorly guest and she is quick to act and sort things out for her guests.
We only did one trip (boat trip got them down to £30 each and free child cheaper than Thomas cooks trip!) bought off the man on the beach and it was the best money we have every spent. Usual snorkelling, island etc food and drinks thrown in with the camera man and lads keeping you entertained and making towels hats etc. The best thing was the dolphins that decided to come and swim up to the boat. 30 plus of them and their babies jumping out of the water following the boat for a good 10 mins. The captain was beeping the horn and the dophins were in and out of the water putting on a show for us all AMAZING!!!
I got a upset tummy after being careful with my food, drink and hygiene but to be fair its just one of those things when you go somewhere like Eqypt. The dirty money, other people not washing their hands in the toliets and using handles etc all could be the cause. £10 and some tablets from the chemist soon sort you out! At the time its not pleasant but on a bonus might help to shift some of those pounds from the cakes!!

In all a nice well maintained hotel, lovely helpful staff , above average food (can always find something you like) and poor entertainment. Not much for English but for a lower cost holiday to Egypt you cant really complain!! Count down to our next one to Sharm in August has already began from our little man who had a ball which is i guess what its all about!!

Having recently stayed at cwr, I really feel that I should jot down one or two little opinions!

Tranfer from airport:

my partner and myself upgraded to private transfer.. Don't risk it!! It seemed that the second we stepped off the plane and in to the terminal building, everyone was out to get us. We were approached atleast 5 times by men in suits asking us where we were going. And guess what... They were all our pre arranged 'private transfer', however it didn't take long to realise that they were chancers looking to extort the new arrivals. It was all obvious, but extremely annoying and not the best welcome to Egypt! We finally found our transfer agent (only Id was a clipboard with thomas cook written on it). Anyways, an awful journey, horrible minibus with no air con, a driver that didn't think using lights in pitch black darkness is a good idea, it ended up taking just over an hour!

Check in:

a worrying entrance, we drove past the staff quarters (grubby and awful looking block of flats), into reception! Very impressive, polite and professional staff. Within 5 mins we were on the back of a buggy and on our way to our appartment (furthest point from reception).
Ridiculously long walk to reception and restraunts).

Room: 10/10 lovely, big, clean, great bathroom, black out blinds were great, huge bed, no tea or coffee facility but a a wonderful room.

Food:

awful!!!! We lived on rolls and omelettes in the end. We both had bad stomaches several times. Infact, it was the food and drink that spooky the holiday. We had nothing to look forward to in the evening, such a let down!

Staff:

reception and cleaners were curteous and polite. Bar staff were rude and crude to the females. Very annoying, the fact I tipped them on my first day annoys me even more. Very very rude, no manners!

Pools:

lovely, clean, big, not crowded!

Poolside:

not enough sun loungers, all reserved by towels by 8.30. Very irritating!
Constantly hassled by aggressive looky looky men. Seriously, absolutely relentless! Couldn't believe the hotel didn't stop these guys. I've never come accross such angry salesmen!

Atmosphere:

as a whole, I suppose it was relaxing. The other guests were mainly Russian. One particular night, another british guest and myself had to interviene as one Russian beat the hell out of his son. The hotel staff just stood and watched (no thankyou of any kind!), but other than that, they were all pretty much okay. Other than queing!!!

As much as I've harped on, this isn't a bad place at all. Just abit boring, and very simply not 5 star!
I had a nice week there but, any more than a week and I think I'd of started to miss nice food and something to do a little too much!

P.s, the jet skiing... Please barter them down! Their opening prices are so ridiculous it funny!

We arrived at our hotel quite late a night but even tho you could see it was in the middle of nowhere it was still a beautiful hotel. We were shown to our rooms very quickly with our luggage fetch to us and told that they had arranged some food for our arrival even tho it was closed to midnight.
The next day we went to our welcome meeting with Kath from Thomas Cook who is a lovely warm helpful lady with plenty of knowledge around Egypt and its history. Any problems and she will do her most to help getthis sorted straight away. We were so impressed that we booked 2 trips with her staright away.
Our room was 1110 which was very spacious and cleaned daily and overlooked the middle pool. Easy access to most things. People may complain that things were taken from the rooms but you are provided with a safety deposit box which is hidden in the wardrobe. Yes you should be able to leave things around but if they are important to you then its your own responsibility to keep them in a safe place. We never had any problems with our cleaner who kept on top of our room, he was always polite and helpful if we had any questions.
There were 3 main pools which sometimes may have been slightly cool, but needed if you think what the temperature is like in the middle of the day. Anyone who needs a heated pool whilst on holiday in 30+ heat seems rather silly to me!!
We spent the morning by the beautiful beach which was at easy access to a bar and a resturant near by and our afternoon by the pool so we could cool off.
The food down by the beach did seem nicer at lunch times with fresh pizza's / pasta etc being made at your request. Each night a different theme is set for the food, so they try to cater for people's need. People do complain about the food, but you must remember this isn't traditional english food, if you go abroad you must realise as high a star it is the food will be different to what your used to. I ate well for a week with different meals each day. it you want what you normally eat then dont go abroad. My partner has a very bad stomach problem and can struggle with food but if we spoke to the manager about his needs we were told this wouldn't be a problem, and meals could be arranged for him.
On the first day you will get hasseled by people trying to sell trips, the spa, snorkelling etc but after that day they tend to leave you alone.
One trip i would recomend the the private tour to Luxor, well worth the money as plenty of amazing sights to see.
We kept our room on for longer as we had a night flight which wasn't a problem and was charged about £35.00 approx.
Overall myself and partner enjoyed our holiday at the caribbean resort, yes you can complain but thats only if your being picky. If you want a week's piece and quiet with very nice weather then this is the place for you.

we arrived in the resort on the 3rd may, knowing that the hotel was secluded with no outside facilitys unless we wanted to travel approx 40 mins into hurgarda. firstly i must mention we traveled with thomos cook whom provided excellent service at the airport provideing excellent care and support for my daughter who is a wheelchair user.anyway, back to the hotel. first impressions were very impressive! the main reception area was as beautifull as any 5* hotel that i have stayed in. check in was efficient and friendly and we were taken to our rooms which were in block 10, ground floor, steps away from the pool side. great tv in all rooms, providing good choice of programs.bathrooms amazing, large walk in shower, clothes drying facility sink and wc.large wardrobes and good draw space. also mini fridge daily stocked with bottled water.toiletries included also shoe shine and sewing kit! we went for a chill out holiday and this hotel is great for that, but, if you want more the options are their for you to take different activities or trips daily if you wish, as you approach the pools from the reception if you choose theright side of the pools you can relax undisturbed, but on the left side you can choosr from endless excursions which can be haggled down to very good prices. we decided to visit the spa which is onsite, wow, we paid £20 a head and had sauna, steam, full body mask, steam, full body massage finishing of with choice of face mask and sauna jaccuzi pool! bargain! in fact enjoyed it so much, repeated it all last day! pools in hotel large, clean but cold, i mean realy cold! jamaican pool bar serving drinks from 10 till 5 were great, filling our empty water bottles with coke, no probs. you could also get snack lunch here, burgers, hot dogs chips ect. at the gazebo bar you could have ice cream daily between 3 and 5, also hot and cold drinks from 10 till late. last but not least, the carabean main restaaurant..... well staff were excellant, every day our table would be reserved and drinks put ready for us, these were refilled throughout the meal. all food self servce, and yesafter 2 weeks you knew what was in each container, but fish would be in different sauces or batter as would beef.lots of different choices of different food< themed evening every night always different foods being seved. so much choice even for the most fussy eater!staff were so friendly,my husband was unwell for a couple of days, they went out of thier way, sending specialy prepared drinks and food to the room, he quickly recovered.all in all, we had a fab time and hope to return later this year, for a good quality holiday for all the family this hotel is hard to beat!

Room Tip: 10007- close to everything
