Looking for a place in a warm and sunny place during the Christmas holidays, we found this gold resort in Egypt. The hotel itself and the grounds were beautiful. The heated pool with the comfortable sun chairs a great place to relax.
The golf course with its challenging layout had fantastic views. He wind was quite strong on the course, which added to the challenge.
The food was wonderful - lots of choice, a different buffet theme every night and many fresh cooking stations. But the best was the ice cream at the bistro by the pool. The waffles are made fresh and were still warm!
Best of all about our stay at the Cascades was the friendly service. Everyone was very professional and provided the highest level of service.
Thanks for making our stay so wonderful and memorable! We hope to be back soon.

We stayed at the Residence des Cascades at the end of November. It is a long way from Cairo and from any trouble and the security is generally very good with just one road into the resort. The hotel was wonderful, very comfortable rooms and a lovely big swimming pool. The food was excellent with fresh food cooked to order for breakfast and for dinner. We also enjoyed a special sea food evening with excellent fresh food. Highly recommended.

I you are searching for a place to really relax, eat lovely food, get some sun, the best hospitality you could ever dream of, then look no further.

It all starts at the airport when a man like Mr. Shazly greeting you and help you before you even get to your luggage. He'll help you through the customs and makes everything go smoothly. Before you will know it you are in the car and another man drives you out through the desert. In the car there is water to drink if you like. After about 45 min you will arrive. You will be greeted by the front desk staff and they will walk with you to the lounge where you can sit and have a cold and refreshing orange juice. Then they will bring the paper to confirm all the information.
When you feel ready, a man will show you to your room.

Here are some of the reasons why you should stay at this gorgeous place;

* Every singel one of the staff (except 1 at the bar) were all so kind and professional and knew about true hospitality and made us feel welcomed and so relaxed. Of all trips we have made around the world this one made us most relaxed.

* The most amazing buffé dinner that changes every day so you will Not get tired. The breakfast you will love too! The service is the best. They remember your name. They remember what you like or preferre. Then they will bring it for you before you get the chance to ask for it!

* SPA. You have access to ONE OF THE BEST SPAs in the world.
You can have a relaxing massage and feel the ocean breeze at the same time. You can go for a swim in the saltwater pool or you can try the amazing 750SqM Aquatonic Pool.

* Outdoor tennis. Golf course. Pool with ocean view and bar/restaurant. Table tennis. Squash.

* Very good price for what you get.

* Ocean is close for snorkeling or other water adventures. Or you could just relax on the beach. if you like the hotel bus will take you there. Only 3 min away.

They dont have the best bed in the room and not the latest television set but for the low price you pay and all the spotless service you get, there is nothing to complain about.

I have seldom stayed at a hotel and been so happy with it. We went half board - usually not a good option as it ties into boring food. Not so here. The food was good and varied every night. The rooms were spacious and well thought out with in-room facility to make tea/coffee. The Egyptian staff were friendly, polite and efficient. The golf was good, especially the holes right by the sea with jumps over the wadis. The sea is crystal clear with a nice beach to relax in, but the pool is a good alternative.

Come here for the golf, but if snorkelling and corals is also your thing then you will need to take a boat out to one of the reefs. The corals off the jetty are minor stuff, but there are lots of fish to look at.

With such rave reviews, it is not surprising that the golf courses are fairly full. Consider doing the back nine early in the morning and the front nine in the afternoon. Everyone seems to go from 1 to 18

Mr Meyer and his staff do everything they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible .We have never ,ever been to a hotel were staff was so friendly ,polite and well trained as there .Must have been a hell of a job for Mr Meyer ,but worth it in the end .Truly a Leading hotel of the world as it comes to this .the only thing worth mentioning :beds are really very hard (but you get one or even two topcoats as you ask for it ,with a smile)Big old box TV could do with replacement .
Thalasso is very well organised and busy ,so book your treatments ahead or you will have trouble finding a spot the first days of your holiday .
Do try the ice creme bar by the pool !!!Home made gallettes with the most delicious ice creme I have had in a long time .
My husband enjoyed the golf course ,and he is difficult to please..
Next year we will go back as sunshine is garantueed and we love the place .

Room Tip: If you have young children or are not very mobile ,ask for a room not too far from the reception and pool otherwise you might end up having to walk a long way ..
