Review long overdue: I stayed there back in Fall 2008, but Tripadvisor didn't let me choose a date that far back--just a heads up! This is most likely my favorite hotel in Egypt. Food was excellent, fresh and organic; the panoramic views of Dakhla from the hotel are to die for (hotel is up on a hill, quite elevated); the hot springs right on hotel grounds were a plus; the decor was worth photographing more than once. All in all, worth it! Wish I would have stayed more than one night!

An absolutely awesome full organic hotel!
Stunning friendly staff; very fresh self-produced organic food; though it's surrounded by sand and dirt on a windy spot all the rooms are very tidy and clean!
Even the brickwall-bed feels comfortable, you just have to keep in mind where you are :-)
A defenetly must is a visit in the hot pool; 37°C Water temprature and a fantastic view over the oasis of dakhla into the desert is an amazing experience!

The location is amazing resting on top of the hill at Dakhla, and from the top very scenic,The hotel is quite unique not something that you would expect in the middle of the desert. Made from stone & brick, it is a large hotel with separate blocks with lots of places to sit outside on the paved seating areas. The rooms are spacious and the upstairs rooms have balconies.Unfortunately the hotel does not have air con which is surely missed when you are having 40+ degree days and nights, and the breeze is hot and dusty. It is impossible to have the windows open as the breeze is very strong but also brings with it a lot of sand. The bathrooms are a good size and there is plenty of hot water. You can drink the water from this hotel as they have there own spring which is endorsed by WHO.We had breakfast and evening meals, both were adequate considering where you are.The pool is a walk from the hotel, which can be a problem considering the weather.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Not a cloud in the sky every day, relaxed by the mineral pool and enjoyed a water-pipe in the Bedouin tent, strolled into the nearly village of Al-Qasr, wonderful friendly service all round. Lots to see and do in the area. We really felt we experienced the REAL Egypt. Hotel food fresh and organic, local beer and wine and hibiscus juice! We were well looked after. Location and decor of the hotel absolutely superb. Would love to come again.

I spent two nights here, driving out and back to Luxor (there is now a weekly Dakhla/Cairo flight!). My room was large, so breezy that I needed to shut the windows at night and comfortable, in an eco-lodge kind of way.

They recently changed their pricing from dollars to Euros which makes this MUCH more expensive for American tourists. The car to / from Luxor is also charged in Euros and is also expensive.

The vast majority of their clients are German or Swiss.

My first night there the hotel was full so they had a folkloric dance performance. The troop that performed was excellent.

I didn't use the small thermal pool - I couldn't get past the rusty red colored water - and the water was lukewarm, not hot, so I didn't see the point.

Internet was two PCs at $6 / 30 minutes. No WiFi.

Stayed here for 2 nights on a tour of the oases with Ancient World Tours. Stunning location, great views towards the creamy pink edge of the plateau on the one side and over medieval El-Qasr and the oasis on the other. Highly romantic buildings grouped together like a spacious old village, faced to look like mud-brick. My room was huge and simple, very stylish in local rustic mode. Decent bathroom - a pokey plastic corner shower was the only jarring note. But there was no aircon, only a big fan, and as the bed was built out of a wall that was in full sun all day it was like an oven, even at night, but especially at siesta time on our second afternoon. And the fresh wind that blew up during the nght didn't manage to penetrate my huge space. So avoid Room 103 - choose one that is north facing, preferably backed to the south by another room or building, and has cross ventilation. I should have asked to move after my fairly sleepless first night, but inertia takes over and also the hotel seemed very full on the second night. A pity I struck it unlucky, as it was the loveliest looking hotel of our oases trip; on the plus side I was up to see the stars fade and the sun rise !
The staff were charming and eager to help and the food, especially the breakfast, was very good.
Another word of warning. The hot pool is great fun but be very thorough in washing yourself off with plenty of soap in your shower afterwards. I washed as normal, put on a white shirt and went to dinner and when I took it off the lower sleeves and collar were a lovely shade of pink, courtesy of my hairy arms and neckline, and after about 10 washes in the machine back home the shirt is only now approaching wearable.

On a hill, overlooking the village of Al Qasr. Rooms are bungalows build in traditional style. Not exactly luxurious but very typical and comfortable. Everything you need is there. Stayed 2 nights while on a tour in Egypt. No airco but there is a ceiling fan and the way it is built keeps the room cool.
Staff is polite and friendly. Location and surrounding landscape makes it very special. In the depression and the oasis of Dahkla.
Food was good but nothing special. Nice place considering it is in an oasis in the desert and certainly nice for a stopover.
