You can walk across the bridge and view Lock 2. Park has nice walking trails, and you can see boats and kayakers in the river. There is a visitor center on the Waterford side near where boats are docked. Check out the Erie Canal map and tiles. It was free for us to enter and park on a Saturday afternoon in September.

Peebles Island State Park is a rare jewel. Wonderful hiking trails through woodland and along the Hudson and Mohawk rivers; offering fine views of the Cohoes falls.

Peebles Island is a great way to get some exercise and enjoy beautiful river views. Easy 2 mile (approx.) trail that is great for all ages. Picnic tables are scattered around the trail so pack a little lunch and enjoy the scenery!
