I have had good and very good meals. The food, and service, are average. The restaurant appears tired.

Based on TA reviews here, we reserved dinner here over the President's weekend, and it did not disappoint. The Landmark Inn had very nice atmosphere, at once homey and yet elegant, with a fireplace. We enjoyed the French Onion Soup, lobser ravioli, coq au vin, filet mignon and braised short ribs. The service was excellent. We're used to chic crowded places in NYC. This spacious, homey restaurant had a lot of character, great food, and we would love to return the next time we're upstate.

As we are alergic to onions and garlic, accomodation by the chef is very important. We had no problem here. My husband had a delicious grilled prosciutto wrapped filet mignon, and I had a wonderful shrimp and pasta dish. A shared spinach and gorgonzola salad and shared cheese cake were amazing. Service was attentive, not intrusive. Tip - If you order a chocolate martini straight up, as I did, sip this very large and very potent drink slowly!

There's a great dining room with a wonderful menu here, but our friends meet one night a week in the wonderful bar where the wood paneling and tables make for a cozy and friendly atmosphere. Many of the people are regulars and locals like us. We can order from the bar menu or the dining room menu, and you just can't go wrong. The Inn is a historical building which creates its own ambiance. Great service where the waitresses know your drink and whether you like milk or cream in your coffee. Can't beat their hamburgers!

After some not so great experiences finding a good place to eat after shopping at the Woodbury Commons outlets we finally found the Landmark Inn. Now it is the only place we go when in the area. Beautiful old home converted into a restarurant. Service is friendly, efficient and helpful. Food is also great. I like the salmon but many other dishes look great. It's about 8 miles from the outlets mostly on back roads but it's easy to find and totally worth the drive.
