Jones Beach is always crowded with families and there is barely room to put down a blanket on summer days. It can have a rough crowd.

“Life is a Beach at Jones Beach”
Reviewed January 2, 2012

Jones Beach has so much to offer. At the height of the summer season your can find your corner of tranquility away from the crowds. Jones Beach is so vast you avoid the crowds. Head for beach 6.

Jones Beach, on Long Island call our souls back to nature. Just by looking at the sea, we are refreshed.

“Every public place has it's ups and down sides.”

This beach is indeed one of the "finest" in NY next to million dollar beach @ Lake George, NY. The sand is sifted daily if not weekly for glass and other foriegn matter. There are garbage cans everywhere and the pavilions are still in business for soda and bathroom and food. I used to go to Jones Beach just to sit in the parking lot and watch as the seagulls or better known as "Herring gulls" eat and watch as the planes flying to the airports passed over head. The scenery is indeed beautiful and this is one of the best beaches in NYS.

“It's like a carribean beach minus the palm trees.”
Reviewed September 12, 2011

Jones beach in Wantagh, N.Y. Is as beautiful now as it was for the last fifty years ago that I can remember. Miles of white sandy beaches with a nice surf. The waves are great. Weekends can get crowded especially around the lifeguard stations where that is the only place swimming is allowed. You will, however, never run out out plenty of sand to lay down a blanket and enjoy the sunshine and sound of the surf. There are concessions stands for food and drink, a gift shop and of course restrooms. There's a Friendlys for ice cream as well as Pizza Hut and a place to get chicken. Parking fields 3&4 have all the amenities. While vacationing there check online the Jones Beach Theatre. Outdoor stadium style seatting to enjoy great concerts under the stars. If you like to go fishing party boat style, about 15 minutes down the highway is Captree State Park with a fleet of fishing boats for half and full day trips.
