“Nice little casino...no smoking!”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

What a pleasant little casino (or more accurately, racino, since it is affiliated with Vernon Downs harness track). The first thing you notice is "no smoke". There are no table games like nearby Turning Stone casino. But the video games are newer and in much better condition than Turning Stone. One warning...tried the buffet breakfast for $7.95 on a Sunday...this a very limited breakfast buffet and worth passing on.

“Small casino but fun”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

This is a small casino, slot machines are the big thing here, which we enjoy so that was fine for us. Nice that it's located by Vernon Downs racetrack, so you can visit there a well, and it's also not that far from Turning Stone Casino, so you can go there to play bingo or if you want a larger casino after visiting this one. Overall we enjoyed it.

“Horse?”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

I used to do better with the horses when they ran here, I can't say much for either of these casinos up in central NY. Better off in CT., PA, AC., or Vegas if you really are going to win and/or get some play out of your $. The food's even better elsewhere...There's only one thing left in this place from the horses and it isn't eh winning circle.

“Great fun”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

My wife and I went to Vernon Downs for a little fun and weren't disappointed. She likes to play the slots and I like to bet on the horses. At Vernon we were both happy. My wife found the slots to be fairly "loose". She was able to play for a long time and win then lose then win. Overall she walked out the door with money in her pocket, had a lot of fun and best of all no smoking allowed really added to the pleasure.
We ate lunch in the lower track side restaurant. The food was pretty good, prices were very reasonable and the service was good. Your able to place bets on the horses with in the restaurant which was convenient. After lunch we headed to the grandstand to watch the horse and do some betting. This part of Vernon needs some deep cleaning to really spruce it up, but nothing that distracted from our good time.
Overall we enjoyed the smaller size of Vernon's betting area as compared to nearby Turning Stone and appreciated the option of being able to also bet on live horse racing as well as Simulcast is a plus. We'll return.
