“Very Disappointing”
Reviewed July 14, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We reported a faulty toilet and oven on day 2. The toilet was fixed that night, the oven was never fixed for our entire stay, he did look at it and said the bearings had gone but that was it. While the maintenance guy was there I also mentioned that the fridge light was not working, he said he knew already but that was never fixed, half of the four slice toaster was not working. The maintenance guy also explained that he hadn't done his usual checks of the unit before its rented out as it hadn't been on his list. There was no oven glove or handle for the grill tray in the kitchen and only a very basic range of utensils. There were woodlice in the corners of the master bedroom, cobwebs in the windows of bedroom 1 and 2 and the lounge, the blind of the roof velux in Bed 2 was broken and couldn’t be closed. The shower screen frame was very dirty in the en-suite, and there were a couple of unpleasant looking stains on the carpet in bed 1 dressing area, bedroom 3 was not zip and link beds as we had been told they were just two small beds pushed together which was extremely uncomfortable. The Hot tub air jets were not working and two control dials were broken which was reported and nothing was done. Decking boards by the hot tub were lifting up and dangerous. The coffee machine was dirty and so were the coffee capsules that had been left with it. A dog was running loose around the site on more than one day, pooing and peeing everywhere (might have been a builders dog) which was a concern with a 16 month old playing outside. Heavy machinery was waking us at 8am. This unit was also the only one to have a very restricted horizon view as a result of maturing trees and hedging. The complimentary dishwasher tablets had disintegrated in the box and were unusable We also queried whether dogs had been in the unit previously, we were told that the unit doesn't allow dogs however a review in February 2017 clearly states that they stayed there with a dog and it is advertised on the “Where pets are welcome” website too.

The lodge itself was immaculate and beautifully decorated. Feels much more spacious than the photos suggest.

Towels, bedding, coffee, iron etc are all provided and also handily a pack of leaflets for local attractions. The folder of information provided was really useful and explain how to work the hot tub, coffee machine and washing machine etc.

Beds were very comfy!! Not too soft or too firm! Liked the dressing area on the master bedroom.

The site itself seems very secure and safe. There is a gated entrance to the development.

The views from our lodge were beautiful and we got a lot of sun on the back terrace.

Spent most evenings in the hot tub which is serviced everyday, so you know it's really clean!

Would highly recommend for a visit to Cornwall being close to the dual carriageway means easy access. But you are far enough away that when you sit on the terrace it's silent other than bird song or tractors ploughing the fields in the far distance.
