“Best Mexican Food in Westchester”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

We have been dining here at least once a month since the place opened about 13 years ago. The quality has always been top-notch and a good value. If you're into Mole, this is as good as it gets outside Mexico (and yes, we have had mole in Mexico). The best Mexican restaurants seems to usually be small, hole-in-the-wall, places. As most all Mexican food in the USA is "Americanized" to a point, Burrito Poblano is as close to authentic as there is in Westchester. The restaurant is definitely a no-frills place, but that is what makes it good. Its all about the FOOD. We recently took a friend of ours from Mexico to Burrito Poblano and they enjoyed it a great deal and high-praise for the mole sauce. If you like great Mexican food, this is the place to get it.

“Great "hole in the wall" neighborhood restaurant”
Reviewed November 13, 2012

It was our first time there, but many people came in that seemed to be regulars.Tasty food served with fresh veggies. Great salsa and crispy unsalted chips. All our dishes were delicious. Would go back for sure.

“Nothing Special”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

Basic Americanized Mex. Large portions but very forgettable quality. Westchester is unfortunately lacking in above average Mexican fare. I take the hike over the Tappen Zee for the excellent and inexpensive Mexican Fiesta in Orangeberg NY.

“OK Mexican in Tuckahoe”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

If you are looking for atmosphere, this is not the place. What you get is a mom-and-pop-no-frills kind of place. Their tacos, burritos, rice and beans are a solid good and priced that way.

Good to satisfy a craving without going all out.

“Good Mexican in the area ... we had it to go but will be dining in next time”
Reviewed April 6, 2012

I am so excited to have found a good Mexican restaurant that is close by ... they just need to deliver and it would be perfect! The food was good and was ready very quickly. We ordered the guacamole dip, enchiladas suizas with the mole sauce, steak fajitas, grande burrito with mexican sausage, and a side of rice and beans. We ordered way too much food for three people but we were hungry and excited.
The Grande Burrito was delicious and I will probably order that next time. The Enchilada Suizas would have been better with a different sauce, I found their mole sauce to be way too spicey for my tastebuds. The guacamole was very good but I wish they had packed it in a seperate container than the chips because it was difficult to pack away for later - if you order this item make sure to ask them to pack them seperatley. Overall I was happy to have good Mexican food in my area since it seems to be lacking this cuisine.
Enjoy :)
