“A rare real home”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

My wife and I really liked this place because, while it is a class act as a B&B ( very clean, great beds and wonderful breakfast ), it is also a real home with real people who occupy it. Many B&B experiences today are contrived --- full of kitsch that has been purchased to fit the image of a B&B. Rare is the experience of entering into a home of well healed occupants willing to share their personal surroundings with you. Juniper Hill is chock full of a lifetime of collecting. Yes there is a little kitsch here and there ( like a rubber duck in the bathtub ) but that is just to break the spell of everything else. The paintings collection is over the top. The glass collection is breathtaking and the antique pieces throughout the home are all unique and outstanding. David is the collector and if you inquire about any of his things he is more than willing to talk about them. But you could stay for days doing so. It's all quite overwhelming and fabulous.

No it is not inexpensive, but one feels honored to have been invited into this class act home. It is an experience you will not soon forget and therefore worth it.

Room Tip: All rooms are well appointed and offer all the amenities you will need.

My husband and I stayed at Juniper Hill for a long Anniversary weekend and were overly thrilled with the experience. Jet and Bruce were welcoming and wonderful in every way. The B&B was exquisite! The breakfast was to die for and we have been telling everyone we know about our experience. We hope to plan another trip there soon!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Benson. Love, love, love the sunken tub and shower combo....very romantic.

We highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast. Each room is individually decorated to perfection. The Inn is full of beautiful antique furniture and artifacts. Breakfasts are delicious, wonderfully presented and served by candlelight in the dining room, or in the sunny garden room. The hosts are very accommodating. There is complimentary tea and coffee and biscotti available from 7 in the mornings and the afternoons surprise treats like freshly baked cupcakes, or handmade chocolates appear on the dining table for all to enjoy. We stayed there in September 2012 and were most impressed.

Room Tip: We enjoyed staying in the Mary Cassatt room which has a K/S bed and an adjoining room with a Q/S bed...

This was my second visit to Juniper Hill, and it continues to be as wonderful as I remembered. I travel frequently and prefer high-end properties. This doesn't disappoint, and in fact, exceeds expectations. My partner's jaw dropped when we were shown to our room, it was really that lovely. We will return, and will give the Inn our unqualified recommendation to anyone who is heading to the area. Thanks, Bruce and Dave.

Room Tip: The Mary Cassat room is palacial, and has a sunporch that can also be rented in seasonal weather.

We were lucky enough to get a late-in-day reservation at Juniper Hill B&B - it turned the hard goodbye to our youngest college student into a happy transition towards "empty nesting." The personal warmth of Bruce, the lovingly prepared world class breakfasts and frankly perfect surroundings - rooms, art, gardens, patios - are rich memories we will have forever. The town is inviting as well with great restaurants and a nice place for a walk. We'll be back.

Thanks to Bruce and Dave for making Juniper Hill the envy of all other B & Bs. The attention to detail in everything from the decor, the sumptuous rooms and breakfasts to the lens wipes in the sundry basket! The John Singer Sargent room was so comfortable, we felt like it was embracing us. The radiant heat in the bathroom was a real treat. So cozy, so clean, so inviting...
Cannot wait to visit again and bring family and friends...

I stayed in the Lillian Wescott Hale room for 3 nights. The only downside of staying at the Juniper Hill was having to leave. Bruce has a way of making you feel like family and his breakfasts were second to none. I can not wait to return!
