We were on a tour of waterfalls which started with Niagara Falls, this was the second waterfall on our stop. The trails are easy to hike, no strenuous climbs and are breathtaking. Anyone is capable of hiking to see the falls.

This would be a beautiful hike in fall with the changing of the leaves or in winter with some snow on the ground. I have a fear of heights but was able to easily travel to see the falls.

What's not to love? Just 11 miles north of Ithaca on State Route 89 (A designated scenic highway)

P.S. You need to pay $7 (or have an empire pass) during peak season (summer and the fall weekends after labor day) but the rest of the time it is free, and the flat walk remains open all year.

We had heard there was a falls nearby where we were staying that was taller than Niagara Falls, but did not believe it until we arrived. The gorge took 12,000 years to form according to sign. At the park on Lake Cayuga there is parking and a picnic area with restrooms.

The waterfalls and creek from the falls are beautiful and warm. We went swimming in the creek above the falls and it was truly wonderful.
