We had heard there was a falls nearby where we were staying that was taller than Niagara Falls, but did not believe it until we arrived. The gorge took 12,000 years to form according to sign. At the park on Lake Cayuga there is parking and a picnic area with restrooms.

The waterfalls and creek from the falls are beautiful and warm. We went swimming in the creek above the falls and it was truly wonderful.

Loved this spot. Gorge and rim trails are stellar. Clean and well maintained. Lots to see. Liked going early as it got very busy later.

Cost was $7 to park on lower side near lake. Parked for free at the overlook on north side of gorge. Walked down trail and into gorge to the falls viewing. Can walk in the water. Very nice walk along water. Packed a lunch and water. Walked up the south rim trail and around to car at overlook. Took about four + hours. Recommend food, water, time, hiking footwear that you can get wet.

A very pretty drive up from Ithaca brings you to this park. There is an entrance on the lake side for the beach and campgrounds and concessions. On the other side of the road is the entrance to the trail to the falls. There is a lower falls visible from the parking lot. An easy trail (well marked, gentle slope and wide) leads to the main falls. There are signs about the geology and history of the area as you proceed. My boys and I particularly enjoyed that you could walk along the riverbed in sections.
I checked that "facilities are available" but they are all on the other side of the street at the lakeside.
