Small and friendly! Lovely southern italian cuisine, really family. Its small, clean and hearty. The ever italo american fetuccini alfredo - toothsome home made pasta, buttery fatty sauce. Chicken added was a bit underseasoned, but well cooked. The italo-greek salad has roasted red peppers, with a light dressing, is really tasty. Interesting enough the feta they use is not ultra salty, and makes the salad very satisfying. Pizza dough is traditionally undersalted, and in true italo american fashion crispy bottom, chewy, really good with nice gooey cheese. Stuffed shells are really good! If you had a second generation italian aunt, this is what you'd eat at her home! Sauce is hearty without being heavy. But the BEST part of visiting DeFazio's is to get Rocco going on the stories behind the family wall - from Jimmy Duarte the patron godfather of their community church, their relationship with Mr. Rockefeller himself and Hon Hilary Clinton. Rocco, the on-going patriarc of the family business is simply a charming, delightful soul. So if the food didnt fully fill your belly, his story telling will captivate your heart. Oh yea - couple of house rules - they don't sell by the slice and cash only! Buon Appetito!

My son and I went to DeFazio's due to the reviews of the pizza. Our first trip there ended up a bust because the restaurant is tiny and reservations are needed for busier evenings. This trip I was prepared and made a reservation. We arrived, got our table and was greeted by a great guy who explained the menu and choices, offered us a salad and bread. The salad arrived with yummy fontina cheese - it was a basic tossed salad with tomato, onion, olives and tossed in a light dressing - very good.
We ordered a smoked mozzerella pizza with a garlic herb crust. Needless to say, it was excellent. We both totally enjoyed the pizza which had roasted red peppers, mushrooms and a delicate smoky mozzerella. Yum. There are 4 or 5 different crusts to choose from and lots of toppings and cheeses. Next time I pick up my son from college we'll be returning!

This is some great pizza---every aspect of it is perfect---the crust, sauce, cheese, toppings, everything. In addition to great toppings, you can pick your crust from 5 choices, including garlic herb, whole wheat, or spicy hot pepper!

I have yet to try the other food...but got to sample a handful of varieties, and in each case it was as good as it gets. It feels like a cross between NYC and Italy and never fails to amazing me!

Since I am constantly watching calories I was pleasantly surprised to find a place what made multigran and whole wheat pizza. It is excellent and haven't had one combination I haven't liked. Sauce excellent. Would highly recommend.
