Plum Blossom has been serving consistently good "neighborhood Chinese" for years. Its atmosphere is way above your standard Chinese take-out place. Inside the restaurant, quiet reigns with soothing classical music in the background. The lovely wood carvings throughout the interior make this spot special. Service is fast and efficient.

Attended a friend's 70th birthday celebration and was pleasantly delighted in the variety of foods and quality spicing. Hadn't been there in years as the owner was constantly renovating and the quality of the dishes depended on the cook. Definitely will make more frequent visits in the future!

I've been coming here for years. So glad I live so close by. The decor is elegant and traditional Chinese, with oaky wood color...and normal to low brightness incandescent lighting. This place is usually always busy, although waits longer than 15 minutes to be seated are rare. Service is usually prompt once you're seated...but you may want to have them leave a full pitcher of water on your table. This is the tastiest Chinese food I could find. The menu is unique, with a few dishes rarely seen elsewhere. There are also a few Thai dishes. And the great news is much of this stuff is now available on their take-out menu. This is the better-end of Chinese cuisine available around here. I've never had a dish here that wasn't good...except for the Wonton Soup; it looks great, but is always too salty, and the Wontons are always soup-logged with no flavor because they contain very little pork, and they don't properly seal them. As far as appetizers go, their egg rolls are about the best around, soft, moist, not greasy, and delicious, but you have to ask for them as they're not included on the dine-in menu. The Shiu Mai is definitely the best around; indescribably good. And the Golden Cups would be perfect if only the duck skin were removed before final preparation. The Pot Sticker Dumplings are good, but not special. The Braised E-Fu Noodles with crabmeat are an interesting variant to ordinary Lo Mein, but has better flavor some times more than others. The Tangerine Beef is always a great choice...but you may want to order it mild. My favorite is the Jumbo Shrimp with Cashew Nuts and Baby Peas. It's served in a delicious rich brown sauce. This is the best-tasting shrimp with cashews dish you'll find anywhere. On the downside would be the Wor Shu Duck. The delicious brown sauce is better than the duck, which tends to be dry, fatty and bony. It should be fall-apart tender, with a sweet flavor and served on a bed of lettuce instead of vegetables to be at its best. The Shrimp with Lobster Sauce would be another fine choice, and the Moo Shu Pork is excellent and not too drippy, making rolling less messy. Prices have gone up over the years. This is by no means inexpensive Chinese; soup, two appetizers, main course, and ice cream for dessert (more than enough for one person) will easily cost you at least $30.00 with tax and tip figured in, but it's still affordable and worth it if you're only going to do it a couple of times a month.

First of all, one of the few Chinese restaurants with no buffet- just real service and full menu at the table. I've been going here for years (decades?)- whenever I have occasion to go out for dinner. They are packed on holidays so I don't go then.

FOOD- always tasty and nicely presented; generous portions. I've often ordered take out and have taken their barbecued ribs to my son who moved to Rhode Island. One of the few places making good dumplings -fried or steamed.

SERVICE- mostly good. With one exception, food has always been served in a reasonable time frame. Owner is always very friendly.

AMBIENCE- environment is over the top. Seating is overdue for replacement (3/2013) but everything else is outstanding. Many huge carvings. I read in another review that the owner did all the carvings and then I read a dispute to that fact. Go and ask. Some have said it is like being in a castle. So I suppose cynics may find it gaudy.

PRICES Prices are appropriate to the quality of food and service.

We have dined here many times over the last 25 years or so, and have never been disappointed. It is our favorite chinese restaurant. We find the staff to be friendly and the prices to be very reasonable. The owner has done extensive woodwork to create a nice atmosphere.

Tonight I had a combination platter of pepper steak with onion. My wife had Seafood Wor Bar with generous amounts of seafood. Both were delicious.

Eat here, you won't be disappointed.
