Even though the hotel hasn't opened for the summer and the owners have changed, I can already tell you it's going to be worth a trip! The new chef, Karin Lapusnak has been the executive chef at a few other northern NY favorites of mine and she is great!! The Brinkmans will be missed; there will never be a replacement for the favored Thai Fried Scallops, or Diane's ability to squeeze yet another reservation onto the books for you. I'm hopeful that the new owners will maintain the outstanding reputation of The Wellesley Hotel and I recommend a visit!

Reservations are a must here.

As others have mentioned, this is a way the past used to be. The service was great and the food exceptional.

We started off with the calamari; it was very nice and not over powering on the sauces. We then moved into the Greek Style chicken dumplings, tasted great, Grilled duck breast, the best I have had, and the Celeste’s cavatellis di giorno pasta, again great!

This is a must restaurant to eat at if you are anywhere in the area.

If you are looking for a quaint place to stay with the feel of a bed and breakfast, this is a great place for you. I learned I'm more of a "Holiday Inn" traveler, but I still enjoyed our stay.
Friendly staff, the restaurant is first rate and we really enjoyed the trivia night in the pub. Great location and a quick walk to the water.
Keep in mind there is no air conditioning in the rooms. Plenty of ventilation from the windows and ceiling fans, but on a warm August night, it was a tad uncomfortable. I imagine the lack of A/C isn't a problem most of the year.

We have repeatedly returned to this hotel for dinner and we have never been disappointed. The peaceful ambiance, the excellent service, the relaxing atmosphere as well as the creative cuisine keeps us coming back for more. The outside terrace is smack dab in the middle of fabulously maintained wooden gingerbread `cottage`homes which takes one back to a quieter time. The park just outside the restaurant gives it a "country friendly casual"atmosphere. The dinner menu includes amazing local perch, fantastic artisan cheeses, homemade bread, fantastic appetizers. I can go on and on about this hotel as it is definitely worth a visit.

Thousand Island Park is one of the most charming places I've ever been. It's gingerbread homes and water views are spectacular and it's sunsets are not to be missed. The Wellesely restaurant did an excellent job in keeping that feeling going all evening long. We ate out on the terrace overlooking the park. Service was superb - and the food was just plain delicious. We are advised that the chef is a teacher of the culinary arts and it really shines through. Everything we tasted was scrumptious from appetizers to desert. We wish we had known about this place BEFORE the last night of our trip. But now we have a great excuse to come back.

We dined with friends on a Sunday evening at the hotel restaurant and the experience was delightful. Arriving by boat at the town dock it was a short stroll to the hotel and our first impression was total delight. Such a quaint colonial style building in a fabulous almost park like setting. Our table was ready and the staff were attentive and charming. Water was brought immediately and our drinks order soon after. A selection of bread and flavoured olive oil was brought to the table for us to snack on whilst we waited for our food. The menu was mouthwatering and I had the shrimp wrapped in procuitto to start followed by salmon with horseradish mashed potato. My wife had
escargo baked in a ramekin to start followed by duck. All delicious. We weren't able to sample dessert because of an incoming storm warning so we had to leave to get back to Grindstone Island. As it had started to rain heavily a fellow diner who was a complete stranger to us offered to drive us back to the dock. A complete gentleman whose generous offer made our visit complete. Total bill came to $50 a head which was reasonable considering the quality of the food and included cocktails and a decent bottle of red.

This is a review for the restaurant!
We spent a day in TI park and had lunch at the Wellesley Hotel Back Door Bakeshop. They are open 1-2:30 Fri, Sat, Sun. They have delicious home made pizza, breads, pastries, cookies, pies, cakes, etc. DELICIOUS!
For dinner our plan was to go to the Wellesley Hotel Restaurant, but did not realize you needed to make reservations so far in advance. They opened at 6pm, and at 5:45 when we walked in to make short term reservations, they said they could not accommodate our party of 2 until 8:45. We had been there all day and did not want to wait around anymore, so we decided to do takeout instead. It was a fantastic decision. We ordered Fish Tacos, which are on the appetizer menu, and come with 2 tacos per order. They are made with fresh local caught perch, and they were delicious!! Highly recommended!
There is also a cute ice cream shop across the street.
