This was a lovely Marriott. Main positive points were the luxurious bed linens! Feather pillows, down comforters, chenille throws. Little things that mean alot when you are traveling. Nice size room too. We had a two double bed room and a king size single bed room. We asked for a rollaway in the double bed room and they brought quite a decent one in, except there is no room to lay it down. Ok if you have someone who likes to sleep standing up! The king size single room was very spacious and the bed must have been a California super-king! Nice upholstered chair with ottoman and nice wheeled desk chairs too.

Room service was good and very prompt and polite. Not exactly a bargain, but very convenient. Tavern Grille in the lobby makes great Cosmos.

Location is great. About three different parkways were five minutes away from the hotel. We made it to Manhattan in about 45 minutes (without traffic).

We didn't use the pool, but it was getting a lot of business. Strong chlorine smell so I imagine that the rooms overlooking the pool would get some of that. There are rooms away from the pool, if you think that would be a problem.

There is a gift shop with sodas and chips and muffins. It closes early though, so stock up when it's open. You can request a small refrigerator for the room too, free of charge.

Good location, nice appointments, pretty good size room and lovely, comfy bed... good price too through Marriottt.com

We stayed New Years Eve 2007/2008 because it was near a party we attended.

We stayed on the 7th floor.

The room was newly renovated with nice furniture and many conveniences for any computers or other equipment one may have. There are even LED reading lamps on the headboard so your spouse can read and not disturb you.

The location is extremely convenient, the hotel is moments from 4 major New York roads. This convenience creates a disadvantage because the hotel couldn't have a worse view from most sides, but most guests aren't there as tourists so this shouldn't be an issue for most.

The breakfast buffet was decent, and the staff was very attentive.

There were two problems worth noting.
1. We asked for a refrigerator and didn't receive a room with one, since we only planned on being in the hotel about 14hours we didn't ask for a change..
2. The housekeeping staff didn't shut the alarm that the previous tenant had set, so we were woken up much earlier than planned.

If you like Marriott Hotels or get Marriott Reward points then don't hesitate to stay here.

My wife and I stayed here on Novembere 17th to the 18th to attend a wedding in the area.

The hotel was very clean and the customers service was excellent.

The food at breakfast was also very good but over priced.

The room we had overlooked the pool. It was clean. The bathroom was tiny, but the shower was excellent.

The room smelled like chlorine and there was a lot of noise from kids in the pool area and also from the hallway. We were in room 415 and we were right near the elevators.

I would stay there again, but next time I would request a room over looking the parking lot and away from the elevators

I read all the reviews before booking and was concerned about the noise and the hotel being run down. We had a room on the 8th floor and not near the pool. I think most of the noise comes from the pool area, and there are rooms looking over the pool. Ask for a room not near the pool. We also got a refurbished room and everything was first class. Ask for one of these if you can. The rooms are not big, but that was ok. We knew we were in suburban NY, and that's how it is. The cleanliness and comfort make up for that. Small shower area, sink is outside and separate from bathroom. Flat screen TV, nice bed. We had a refrigerator put in the room at no charge. We also had a view of the foliage and a castle on a hill. Very nice.
Hotel is easy on/off 287. Service was great. We have no complaints and would go back again.

We we in town to attend a family gathering which was held at this hotel. Thus, for us, it made sense to stay here. We arrived shortly before 2 p.m. and were pleasantly surprised to find that our room was ready. Our room was on the fourth floor and faced the front of the property. At first we were concerned because below us on a second level landing there were heating and air conditioning fans so we worried about the noise. As it turned out, we didn't hear a thing. We did find, however, that as other reviewers mentioned previously that there is a smell of chlorine in the hallways. However, it wasn't overpowering.

The room had a king-sized bed and was a decent size. It had a chair with an ottoman. I didn't sit in it but my husband found it not to be very comfortable. Also there was a desk with a comfortable chair, dresser, 2 nightstands and a TV that could be swiveled around. The closet was a good size. The bathroom had a granite countertop and was a bit cramped. The shower was wonderful! It had some of the best water pressure we've ever found in a hotel! Thus, it was a pleasure to use.

One thing that this hotel could do for its guests--provide free local shuttle service. It would have been very helpful if it were available since the Metro North train station is about 2 miles away. However, every time we needed a taxi, there was at least one waiting outside. We did notice an SUV with the Marriott name on the side. One day we used that vehicle to take us to the train station for which there was a charge. The driver told us that Marriott used it primarily to take airline crews to and from the airport. He also told us that it was part of a company called "America's Taxi".

The gathering we attended was very nicely done. Everything went well so I give the hotel high marks for this. We had breakfast 2 days at the hotel restaurant named "Harvest". Although the buffet was overpriced (as is typical of hotel restaurants), the selection was above average. There was an omelet station where you could also get eggs cooked to your liking. The staff was very efficient and friendly.

Housekeeping was excellent. The maids did a good job keeping the rooms clean and did so in a timely fashion.

Would we stay here again? Certainly, if we ever have a need to be in Tarrytown in the future.
