We've stayed here before, and we'll surely stay here again--it's actually immaculate, and our very spacious room was superbly comfortable. The facility is conveniently located close to the nearby highways and bridges and train stations, but it is set well back in a wooded enclave that feels (and sounds) miles away from the hubbub. The staff is courteous and helpful; the linens and pillows and mattress are spotless and feel brand-new, the room-darkening window treatments are a blessing, the comfy couch and coffee table and long credenza with a desk chair add a suite-like feel to the spacious room, and the fridge, hair dryer, iron, toiletries, plentiful towels, and the tea and coffee set-up add up to true comfort. We had no time to enjoy the pool, and we had just a quick take-away snack from the cafe, but these too add to the many good reasons to stay here.

We've stayed at many Courtyards over the years and they vary considerably in quality. The last 2 I stayed at were good, but had imperfections. We stayed at the Tarrytown Mariott on a Friday and Saturday night. There was some confusion at check-in concerning an extra deposit they now take from EVERYONE, including Rewards members like us. Some sort of corporate change that appears not to impact guests directly, but you may want to ask about this. Minor things--the cookies at check-in are not fresh like at Hilton Garden Inns and Double Trees (we are also Hilton Honors members). Getting to details, the room was a little worn, particular the bathroom area. The sink faucet handle was loose, the toilet ran unless you jiggled the handle after flushing, and the shower mechanism did not engage easily at all--had to try it several times before it worked. To me, that is unacceptable at Marriott Courtyard. But other than that, it was quiet and peaceful, comfortable, etc. There are signs in the halls (large size) telling people that "quiet time" is between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. and an explanation of why that is (even though it's common courtesy). This, to me as a business traveler, is very important. No one wants to listen to talking, yelling, running and worst of all, partying, at a fairly expensive hotel. Also, read elsewhere that Spring Hill Suites across the streets provided shuttle service to train station, Marriott didn't. Not sure about this, as we did not go to NYC.

Room Tip: Hotel set way back into hill, and seemed as though every room was quiet--a plus!

I was very impressed with the friendliness and politeness of the staff. The room was very clean and the bed, oh so cozy! Enjoyed my stay very much. Appreciated the lemon water and coffee service in the lobby. And the free use of the internet service.

We stayed here for a reunion weekend in Tarrytown and found the hotel to be very pleasant, with spacious and clean rooms and a friendly staff. The location is not within walking distance to the charming town, but the advantage is peace and quiet! They offer a reasonable breakfast in the lobby cafe. I had accidentally left my IPad behind, and they were very accomodating in returning it to me. One mild negative is that they could use a bit more parking in the rear of the hotel, the side closest to our room.

Hotel recently renovated. Rooms are beautiful. Restaurant has terrific food. Attentive staff. Pleasurable visit. Elevator is located at the FARRRR end of the building. If you have a room on floor 2 or above not near the elevator then you will have a long walk (to and fro)

Room Tip: Book a king suite. Elevator is at the far end of the building so ask for a room at that end unless...

My wife and I have stayed at this Courtyard many times over the last 10 years for events in the area. We now stay there whenever we visit Manhattan. The train station is 5 minutes away and trains take 35-50 minutes to Grand Central. The renovations are great, plenty of parking, facility well maintained and, above all, the staff is excellent.

Room Tip: stay away from the ice machine

I booked this hotel after staying at another Marriott hotel in Tarrytown nearly four years earlier. The hotel exceeded our expetations. Although it was graduation weekend at West Point, it was not overcrowded. We had a nice suite on the bottom floor with ample space and comfy beds. During our visit, we enioyed the indoor pool, a delicious meal and great coffee. The cookies were also a nice touch. Staff was both pleasant and helpful.
Two things kept me from giving this hotel an excellent rating: (1) walls seemed to be thin as we could hear music coming from somewhere. While it was not loud enough to keep us awake at night, it was a moderate inconvience. I would have called the front desk, but I could not determine which direction it was coming from; and (2) we needed a rollaway bed that was soiled on one side and felt like coils against my son's skin. After trying it, I used extra towels and blankets to pad the bed. Afterwards he slept fine and did not complain about his back hurting.
