“Convenient, clean, quiet; slow internet and slow elevators”
Reviewed November 24, 2013 via mobile

I choose this property because of our Starwood membership and its proximity to office in Yonkers. After multiple stays in various room types I am happy with the overall experience.

Rooms are dark at night, although one had a very bright thermostat (!) of all things, which cast a blue glow throughout the room. Bed is supportive and comfortable, pillows are firm, not the thin things one might encounter in many hotels. Gym isn't huge, but has new equipment in good condition and allows for a variety of workouts. I was put in a Sheraton Workout room one night. Odd but nice option.

I have not stayed on Club Floor but use the facilities for each stay. Food in morning is plentiful and the space is comfortable and roomy. I have not eaten in the restaurants.

Internet is not free in the room, and the basic service that is offered is SLOW. I chose that as my Gold welcome amenity and was frustrated by the speed. Would NOT pay for it!

Also, there are just two elevators and they are very slow for a building with just six floors.

Those two things are not enough to make me stay at the other brands near this hotel.

Currently staying in this hotel for one night on our way north. Check in was a breeze and we were allowed in our room two hours early. We were even asked if we needed a later check out time. King room was a nice size, clean, and had a good bathroom. Bed was very comfortable.

We stayed here during our trip to Sleepy Hollow. The hotel is located right off the highway. A supermarket is right across the parking lot. The lobby and rooms were fine. Breakfast in the hotel's restaurant was average. The best thing about this hotel is its proximity to Sleepy Hollow and the highway.

Dear Rmy1221,

Thank you for staying at the Sheraton Tarrytown,

I noticed that enjoyed your visit to Sleepy Hollow. Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow have so much to offer such as the Lyndhurst Castle , Kykuit, and Philipsburg Manor. Sleepy Hollow offers great restaurants as well as the Sleepy Hollow Cemetary.

The Sheraton Tarrytown is a modern and comfortable hotel. While rooms are average in size, they are well designed, with a generous bathroom. We liked the large shower with excellent water pressure, good air ventilation in the bathroom and bedroom, large desk, bench for luggage placement, friendly staff and the lounge on the club floor that had coffee available. We did not care for the softer style mattress and the few small areas of peeling wallpaper. We did not have an opportunity to eat at the hotel. The hotel is located in a strip shopping area that contains a large Stop and Shop supermarket and other stores. I highly recommend the hotel as a pleasant place to stay.

Room Tip: The club floor on the 6th floor was quiet and had a nice lounge with free coffee and other drinks.

Stayed during a weekend (family wedding). Nice room, but no fridge and no safebox, only coffe maker.
Sfaff was very friendly and cooperative. Lobby and restaurant rather small and crowded most of the time

Nothing really wrong, but nothing exceptional either

This property is really very nice. The rooms are average size, clean and have comfortable beds, the room however, does not offer a refrigerator. The hotel does have a nicer then usual lobby bar located in a compact restaurant and offers drinks (non alcoholic), and snacks in the always open lobby shop. We went for a drink at the bar in the late afternoon and we really were not impressed with the service. It then became clear that no human could be the bartender the restaurant waiter and the room service delivery person ( and he did the functions of all three while we sat at the bar) with the level of customer service that we would expect from the Sheraton organization. The restaurant offers breakfast in 15 mins or less if ordered from the menu or you could chose the buffet. Two of us had buffet and two ordered off the menu. Half and hour later the menu ordered food had still not arrived, even after reminding our server , and the two who chose the buffet were done eating. Then Naomi arrived. She was serving other tables and noticed we were still without food and asked if we OK. After telling her of our issue she agreed that our wait was not acceptable. Off to the kitchen she went and returned with the news that our food would be right out. She was right. Within a few mins the remaining meals were served nice and hot and looking delicious. I did not see Naomi consult with a supervisor but she had the good sense to take control and do the right thing. Her actions were that of an associate who understands how to offer excellent customer service and the Sheraton Organization should be proud of her. Naomi's skills will take her far. She retained our belief in the Sheraton Organization.

Service was great at checkin and checkout. Room was clean and well proportioned. Wireless internet was an extra fee $9.95 and $14.95. Breakfast was also not included. Good location and nice area. As competitive as hotels are would have hoped for at least free internet and continental breakfast for $229 per night. Hotel is worth a stay if you are in the area.
