The Tarrytown Music Hall is the oldest theater in Westchester county. It regularly hosts outstanding performers particularly musical ranging from country to jazz. It is the center of the Main street in a very popular destination village with many very good restaurants and antique shops.

Great historic hall that has hosted everything from film to circus. Excellent acoustics which have led many big name performers to perform and record there. Big names of days gone by grace the stage weekly and some current artists also. Music, Theatre and film fill the hall these days.

It's quite small so there is scarcely a bad seat in the house in terms of view and sound quality. The balcony seats are a tad cramped though for anyone over 6' tall. The bar is on the balcony level and is a bit makeshift but fit for purpose.

My brother and I went to see Steve Earle perform at this theater back in 2012.The train ride from Grand Central station takes you alongside the Hudson river , you pass by Yankees Stadium and roll through some beautiful little communities on the way to Tarrytown, I think it took us about 45 minutes.
What a gorgeous little place! Steep hills from the railway station get you to the town centre which is trapped in the fifties and nicely so.
We arrived early for the concert so we got a chance to look around the stores and restaurants, it's not very big ( especially after a week in Manhattan) but it was wonderfully quaint and we found an Italian restaurant that served up great food which tasted so much better because brother picked up the bill.
After that we walked around the back of the theater and who should be there unloading the gear but Steve Earle himself ! He was nice enough to chat with us for 5 minutes or so and was as friendly as a man can be.. Us? we were just awestruck at meeting him.
And so to the Theater itself , just a little gem of a place. It's not very big inside and we had seats pretty close to the action. The acoustics were great and so was Steve Earle & the Dukes /Duchesses, a very memorable evening of entertainment enhanced by a wonderful setting.
I've relived the evening many times since returning to Vancouver, and now every time I play Steve Earle on my ipod I enjoy it so much more with the images of this theater and town in my mind.
Go see a show there if you're anywhere close to the place, it's worth the trip up the Hudson.

Beautiful building, comfortable seating, good sight lines, great location, easy to-and-from Manhattan or points north by train- a short walk from the train station. Several good local restaurants very nearby.
