“Uhg... I don't know how this place is in business”

For a coffee establishment with a catchy name across the street from the juggernaut Starbucks, you think they would be on top of their game. Their coffee is subpar and their service is the same. I'm not knocking the people behind the counter, but they should try to match what SB has across the street to stay competitive. I love dark and strong coffee, Starbucks is awesome, this place is just blah, it's certainly a step up from DD, but as a coffee person it just doesn't do it for me and it's weak. The coffee is served out of pump containers that you would normally have in the office. They don't have any brew machines visible, so I don't think they make coffee any other way than the conventional way which you normally make coffee at home. Also they don't offer different types of milk when preparing your coffee, they only supply 1/2 and 1/2 and you have to ask for other coffee behind the counter. How hard is it to put milk containers on the counter? The have almost nothing in the form of breakfast food, so when you grab a coffee, you have to go elsewhere to fill your morning hunger. I just don't know how this place is in business, coffee is bad, they have almost no food, it's as pricey as starbucks, there is no decor, nothing that resembles a coffee shop where you would want to hang out go on your iMac and work remotely and listen to coffee shop music, etc. I'm really surprised that people gave this establishment a good rating. There is nothing special about this coffee shop other than a catchy name. I'm especially hard on the rating since it's really not hard to spice things up and when your only goal is to make good coffee and you fail, it should be pointed out. Recommended you go across the street to Starbucks and get a real coffee along with food, service and a pleasant environment.

I've only been here once, so its hard to say if this was just my experience, but my shot was very bitter. The atmosphere was cool, and the location can't be beat (except, I'm sure the staff would agree, there's a Starbucks right across the street!)

I've been a regular at Freedom for many years, and I'm here to tell you they are better than Starbucks, no contest. You cannot go wrong with anything you order; these folks are pros. If you like mochas, this place will set a new standard for you. Unlike Starbucks, which makes them wayyyy too sweet, the Freedom folks mix it perfectly. The atmosphere is absolutely relaxed and super friendly. When you walk in, you know you are welcome to plop down and stay for a while. Keep up the good work, Freedom!!

This is a really down to earth place to get a delicious cup of coffee. It is located across of the starbucks in the armoury square. Definitely worth a try.
