I stayed with my dad for Homecoming weekend. Very standard, comfortable beds for a HI. Old, rickety crickety elevators. Nice breakfast and staff, overall a quality HI. However, the location of this hotel is horrible. If this hotel was around before GPS I feel like it would have been VERY difficult to find. Even if you can find it, the access to major roadways is inconvenient and there is little to no restaurants in the area. Wouldn't recommend for anyone visiting downtown Syracuse or the university, but perhaps it is good for the fair?

We had a great stay at this hotel, the breakfast was very good and plenty of variety between several hot and cold items, the staff was friendly, the room with king size bed was very spacious (bed took up less than half the room, big empty area with just a desk & chair and a comfortable sofa chair with ottoman), the shower was nice with granite walls. The bed was a bit on the hard side but still comfortable. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, luckily there is one restaurant right next to the hotel (sports bar style) which offered a large variety of menu items and had the best chicken wings (we actually ate their both nights to avoid the hassle of going farther away).

My only complaint and it almost ruined the experience for me is that the pool area is quite small which made it extremely loud. There were only 5 kids in the pool at the same time as we went the first time and I had to leave and go back to the room because I couldn't stand the noise. Although there is plenty of seating around the pool, the room is actually quite small with brick walls around the pool and a low enough ceiling that the noise really resonates so it doesn't take a lot of kids splashing and yelling to make it extremely loud. Luckily when we went back the next day the hotel was virtually empty and there was nobody in the pool. The pool water is a bit cold (I read this in another review and I agreed although definitely still swimmable). I read in another review someone complained about the temperature of the hot tub being not hot enough and it is actually quite hot but perhaps 1 degree cooler than some others I've been in where you just can't stay in very long because it's too hot.

Typical HI Express. Very friendly staff. Clean, spacious room.
Thin walls, could easily hear the conversation in the next room. Breakfast just average, faeegs (fake or powdered eggs), very little protein options, great cinnamon rolls.
Small fitness room, no dumbbells.

My wife had surgery in Syracuse. We need a place to stay for a few nights and did not want to be right in the city. This place was perfect. 6 miles from the hospital, rural and quiet. Clean, modern, great continental breakfast, polite and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable, everything worked. Conviently located near a Quaker Steak and Lube too!

We were here for a graduation at Syracuse U. It took a while to find the hotel, but after checking in we were very happy with our room. It is a newer Holiday Inn and pretty cookie cutter type.

It has a very good breakfast, also a great staff. Not sure if we will ever get back here, but it was certainly worth the price.

Although this hotel is a bit tricky to locate, it is well worth the effort to do so. Everything about it is good. The reception staff are friendly and helpful; the rooms are large, clean, well appointed and serviced, while the breakfast area is wonderful. The lady looking after the food was constantly checking and cleaning up. She brought additional items before they ran out so that no one had to wait. In addition, the hotel uses the "White Citrus" toiletries, a personal favourite of mine! I had a couple of questions before we booked and both were answered in a timely manner by John, the manager. It would help if the hotel could be signposted at a couple of intersections as it is hard to find in the dark.

Stayed two nights during the run of the fair. Staff was very friendly and helped with any questions we had. Shuttle to fair was great as the night before a storm had flooded 3000 parking spots. You can walk down a short dirt road and have a good dinner at Quaker Steak and Lube.
