I was a little skeptical at first when I originally reserved the room but when we got there, I was amazed! It was wonderful!
Yeah, the bathroom has no counter space but there is a shelf in the bathroom where you can place your things and a shelf in the shower for which you can place your bathing materials. The room was great....good size. The bed was comfy and there was great closet space. I loved the look of the room and bathroom as well....really historic. There is a refridgerator and coffee maker in the room but no microwave. TV appeared small but when you turned it on the picture was big enogh for you to see. I really enjoyed my stay there and when I'm in Syracuse again, I will stay there!

I stayed here for an evening and was very impressed. The hotel has a lot of character, the room I was in is very nice, and the lobby with WiFi and two computers on the Internet is a nice touch. Also, the folks at the front desk were very helpful with directions. The restaurant was also pretty good and reasonably priced. The menu isn't terribly broad--mostly sandwiches--but the food was good, although they don't serve soups on weekends.

Given the character, service, and reasonable price of the hotel, I can see why it ranks #1 in Syracuse on Tripadvisor right now.

Very good stay - thanks to TripAdvisor. Never would have known about this place otherwise.

Classic small hotel, recently renovated into a lower-pricepoint boutique property. Quite clean (though not spotless - but definitely above average) and well stocked. Fast check-in and out.

Room was spacious and well decorated. Included a mini-fridge and glassware. Negatives were the loose shower handle (not bad enough to call maintenance but taken seriously by the clerk at check out) and the small (17"?) TV. The room had an individual heating/cooling unit, permanently mounted into the wall. That could potentially be considered noisy but I slept fine - two very nice double beds.

Two small-ish fenced lots of free parking behind the hotel. Free wired Internet in the rooms and wireless in the lobby. Lobby has a coffee/wine shop - looked nice but didn't have time to visit.

There's almost nothing within walking distance and the surrounding neighborhood gets shady at night. Better parts of downtown are an easy drive, though. They have an airport shuttle; maybe they also drop off somewhere else in downtown on the way?

Overall, definitely better than any other accommodations in Syracuse at the rate I paid. It's showing just a little bit of wear but much nicer than I could have done otherwise.

We expected just a place to stay for a stopover, but got a great hotel. SOmeone there copied the Westin. Double shower heads, amazing beds, flat screen tv. I was very happy with the whole thing and got a great price (under $90 including taxes!) ALso, microwave & fridge in the room!

What a wonderful surprise for such a dreadful city!!! We were visiting SUNY ESF and booked one night at the Parkview and wow were we impressed. Great big rooms, we were upgraded for free to a suite with a huge king size bed, duvet comforters and featherbeds, wonderful 2 person shower with 2 shower heads, flat screen TV and to boot, a wonderful cafe located inside the hotel that served all fair trade and organice coffees and teas! If only it were in a better city we would stay all the time. Best hotel experience!!!

While obviously renovated, you get a great room for a good price. The minor problems we had were fixed by the staff the next day. The room and bath were very clean, and the king-size bed was very comfortable. A better hotel for the same price as the available budget motels. We would stay again.
