This hotel was as basic as you could get. The ceiling in my bathroom was caving in, water stains on other parts of ceiling. There's also a one-way road running around it so you have to go to the right or past it to get into it. Very inconvenient. And, hotel staff will "kick you out" if you go past your 11 am checkout. Not, "it's okay to stay in the lobby (if you can call it that) till you leave for the airport," but, "you have to checkout at 11 am." Rude. Stay somewhere else.

I don't know what people on here were expecting for $50 (£34) a night. The hotel was clean, spacious, friendly and was surrounded by malls, a K mart, a great rib restaurant and a cheesecake place. The neighbourhood is fine with no tramps that I could see! Didn't feel at any risk walking to restaurants. Breakfast is 'only' muffins, donuts, coffee, juice and fruit? Blimey, what do you expect into that price?! Think yourself lucky you get anything - I'm currently at the Marriot Niagra Falls which has a rack rate of $999 a night and you get nothing! Not even free wifi! Wi-fi is free and of a good strength at the Red Carpet. Don't be put off by the reviews. I'm very picky, and apart from it being a bit dated decor wise, it's a good stay with an excellent price.

Nothing special here but not so expensive as other hotels in the region of the airport. Noisy fan on the room heating kept me awake on and off all night. Five minutes to the airport is about the best thing I can say about this place.

Dirty, old, bad neighbourhood. FREE BREAKFAST is apples, muffins and juice. Guy next to us had his car broken into. Told them we did not want our room to be cleaned(had shopped at outlet malls and didn't want someone to steal our stuff) but someone entered our room anyways(we rigged the door after the poor service we got at reception). Complained but no one cared. Come to Suracuse 4 times a year to shop-never here again. Beware.

this hotel if that is what you want to call it is the worst place i have ever stayed. the worst experience ever. the desk staff a few in particular and the management most of all is very unpleasant. the rooms are not kept clean like you would expect for whatyou are paying. T hey don't change the linen on the beds as they should especially the bed spreads which were disgusting. there were gnats in the room and actually had to use bug spray in my room on a regular. the maid service is awful. this place in my opinion should be closed down. I can't think of one positive thing to say about this hotel if i wanted to.. the management that is there should not be there they were so mean while me and my friend stayed there. stay away from this place is all i have to say. I did not feel safe staying there they have too many drunks on the premises which i think they rent rooms to anyone that comes in. This place really along with the staff need to get it together they are just straight nasty, blankets, bedspreads and sheets should always be changed no matter what, that is just gross and nasty.

Room Tip: if you want a good room go to econolodge up the road stay away from the red carpet inn by all means...

After reading the reviews here, I was horribly worried about a reservation we had already made. But it was completely fine. Todd at the front desk was very nice and very helpful. The rooms are outdated, but it was clean (no bed bugs, I check everywhere) and fairly large. I wouldn't want to spend a week here or anything, but we had to stay in Syracuse for one night for a wedding and this place worked perfectly and was quite inexpensive. Oh, and they offered free phone calls (up to 15 minutes) to anywhere in North America. This was a great bonus for us to check in on things.

Upon check in there were police at the desk, there to arrest or manage one of the drunks in the "weeklies", which is a part of the hotel. From the outside it looked older, but not too bad. Inside, though, it was clear it was quite run down. At the room, a roll away was wheeled in, WITH THE BEDDING FROM THE LAST OCCUPANT STILL IN IT, as they had to find one in a hurry. They pushed it across the parking lot from its last room, whereupon one of the wheels fell off. Struggling, they managed to get it into our very dim, very musty room. The bed was like a rock, the room smelled unacceptable, the whole place was dirty. At that point, we left. Do not stay here, not even for a night. I've stayed in plenty of smaller, family owned places that, while not luxurious, were at least well kept. I expected something a little better from a nationally known chain.

Room Tip: No tip - just leave, do not stay here.
