“Can't stop coming back!”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

I went to the Mission this past valentines day and the food was phenomenal. This was no surprise to me because I have been here a handful of times and have always been pleased. The wait staff are also very attentive and friendly. They really go that extra step to ensure you enjoy your experience, once one even let us sample all the sauces to see which level of spice we wanted. The food is all authentic Mexican and you can tell it is made by people on site and not pre-made. The homemade salsa and chips is one of my favorite parts--so delicious! If this were not enough, the prices are very affordable especially for me as a college student. For anyone looking for an inexpensive, delicious, authentic Mexican dining experience, come to the Mission!

“Great eclectic food, amazing atmosphere”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

The Mission is such a fun place to eat because the converted church interior is so bright and warm and unique. The food is always delicious, with a changing menu of pan-American delicacies. Everything I've ever had here was so tasty, from butternut squash tamales to burritos to friend plantains. The only drawback is that they don't take reservations unless you have a party of 7, so if you want to eat here before an event downtown or on a busy night, good luck because you could be waiting a really long time.

“Amazing Mexican ..Amazing venue”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

Friday night in Syracuse..craving Mexican so we head to the Mission Restaurant. The place was packed. We waited about 30 minutes for our table. One caution do not try the Wine Mojito. It does a disservice to the wine and to the Mojito. Try the local beer instead which was plentiful and good. We sat at the bar and relaxed until our table was ready. The food was interesting and delicious. The mole sauce was authentic and enchiladas hot and delicious. My husband had the skirt steak served with brussels sprouts and polenta. he devoured it. For dessert we were joined by some friends who met us specifically for the key lime pie, they were not disappointed. It was the high light of the night. Not much to say about the staff, the waitress was great but overall the greeter and others were not very welcoming. Chalk it up to the upstate reserve. The place cleared out by 10pm on the dot.

“Tip your sombrero to the feast awaiting at the Mission Restaurant!”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

Taking a break from St Joe's Hospital cafeteria, we rode down a few blocks and parked outside the heavenly Mission Restaurant, an old Methodist church converted into excitingly decorated mexican pitstop. We were impressed when we entered and saw the original stained glass windows, and the great paint decor really hype the ambiance. But, good as all that is, the FOOD is the real hit here! Nice interpretation of authentic mexican-american grub that uses healthy ingredients, has a nicely layed out menu, and good flavours that warm the tongue and tickle the fancy. I enjoyed the shredded pork burrito and my wife enjoyed her chicken burrito, and we had different salsas to enhance each. My choice for the best salsa is the roasted tomato chipotle, but each looked like can't miss action! We could not eat everything we'd like in one visit, so we will have to return! See you there!

“Awesome food and ambiance.”
Reviewed December 17, 2012 via mobile

Meet a client for dinner and must say it was a great evening. The building is an old Church and actually had the feel of the chapel building at the Alamo in San Antonio.

While I am a fan of Mexican Food this was one of the best yet. Very unusual menu items unlike what I'm use to at other Mexican restaurants. Great options and choices including different types of sauce.

The atmosphere was very nice and while it was crowded the high ceiling added natural acoustics so we did not have a problem talking at normal voices. Would definitely dine here again and recommend this place. Our waiter was very good and had an enjoyable wit that added to the evening.
