“Tiny But Tasty”
Reviewed February 20, 2012

This small Italian eatery in the Little Italy area of Syracuse cooks good quality meals, and is often overlooked for larger Italian restaurants all located within two blocks of each other. The family who runs the place gives you good service, although at times a bit rough around the edges. Don't be afraid to try this place to avoid lines at the nearby Italian Restaurants, you won't be disappointed.

“so-so”
Reviewed November 7, 2011

We walked in just as they were about to close, but they graciously accommodated us.
The spinacci pizza with goat cheese was delicious. The salmon dish was okay.

“We LOVED it!”
Reviewed October 31, 2011

The food here is authentic Italian, prices were perfect (my dish was $16 and my grandmother's was $20), entrees came with bread. As far as the portions - you get what you pay for. We were stuffed! I had this amazing chicken and pesto pasta dish. They had plenty of specials to choose from.
Our female server was also the bartender and she was efficient! Even though the place was packed, never once did we feel rushed (like sometimes you can at a chain restaurant).
*One tip, call to make a reservation because their dining area is small - hence the name "bistro". But I'm lovin' the dim lighting and the wall colors and wall art. Absolutely I will be back.

“Nice people, good location, great food”
Reviewed September 18, 2011

Frankie's is located in Syracuse's "Little Italy" neighborhood, with at least five other really good Italian restaurants close by. Frankie's is small, intimate, and friendly. In the summer, they have a few tables on the sidewalk for pleasant outdoor dining. The owner is usually on-site to see that customers are being taken care of, and his son is the head chef. The food is great, with a traditional Italian-American menu. A good appetizer is Utica Greens (CNY variation of greens-n-beans), and they serve salads family style. I love the shrimp fra diavolo, which is just spicy enough. If you don't see want you want on the menu just ask - you can always get a great steak even though it's not listed. Highly recommend!

“Wonderful Experience at Frankie's”
Reviewed December 17, 2010

We had dinner here before a Syracuse Stage show. The food was great the service impeccable and the atmosphere was cozy. I love that it is small and ony seats a few people at a time. The service was very personal and our waiter made us feel like we were the most important people in the place. We will definitely go back!
