I used to live right across the golf course from Saratoga Steaks, and we just walked over regularly for dinner. The hostess even would call us and leave a message when they were going to serve their famous peanut butter pie. I now live on the West Coast and it is very sad to read the recent reviews of what used to be such a wonderful spot to dine. I can't begin to count the number of special occasions tat were celebrated here. What happened???

Like many of the other reviewers, we have been going to Saratoga Steaks forever (at least 15 years). Just had dinner here the other night and once again we were very disappointed. This restaurant used to be pretty good - it was never a four star restaurant, but you used to be able to get a good dinner at a reasonable price, and the service was good including the bar area. Unfortunately, it has gone downhill over the years and it seems to have coincided with new management/ownership. How hard is it to cook a steak? Apparently very hard here. My husband ordered what should have been a slam dunk for the cook - a strip steak and fries. The steak was less then a 1/2 inch thick and NOT cooked to order, and the fries were almost inedible. Salads are no longer included with dinner - they cost extra. After finishing our salads, it seemed like an eternity before our entrees arrived and the dining room was not full. The thing is, this place, in the right hands, could be a gold mine. It's in a prime location without a lot of competition. The bar and dining area on that side could be made into a great sports bar (perfect place to grab a burger before an S.U. game) and the dining room has good atmosphere but the poor quality of food and service are killing it. It's almost like they don't care. We come here a couple times a year and everytime we come here, we REALLY want to like it but it continues to disappoint. I sincerely hope that whomever is now running this place reads these reviews and takes them to heart.

We have been regulars at Saratoga Steaks for years - usually for special occasions. Last night our party of 7 was seated at 6. We had to wait for a couple of people, but ordered our meals around 6:30. We weren't asked if we even wanted salads, in spite of the fact that they now are additions to the already higher prices. For over an hour we sat waiting. We were given bread with dipping oil, but never asked if we wanted more. Those who had ordered beer or wine were asked if they wanted more, but my soda was never offered a refill. When the food finally arrived, not only was there an almost five minute wait between the arrival of the first three plates and the rest of the food, but the steaks were lukewarm at best and the quality of the food was nowhere near what we're used to A halfhearted "sorry about the wait" was offered when we paid our check, but it wasn't enought to make up for the long wait, weak service, high prices, and lower quality food. What has happened to our formerly favorite restaurant? We won't be back.

We are new to the area and did not know of this fine restaurant until we saw it advertised on DoubleTakeDeals. We purchased a voucher a few months ago and called for a reservation on January 30. We had a great experience overall! The location was easy to find with plenty of parking! The service was prompt! The environment was cozy with fireplaces and dim lighting! Food was delicious! We were served bread with a delicious dip before dinner. Before it was finished, my soup was served. I ordered the chicken caprese sandwich with french onion soup and my friend ordered the steak frites. We had a wonderful experience and look forward to our next visit!!!

My wife and I were frequent patrons for many years. We have been there twice in the past 2 months, and will not return. The menu is more limited than before, the service is poor, and the quality of the food has declined. It's sad to see the changes in one of our favorite restaurants.
