I took my son and his friend here after we went golfing at Burnet Park. All of us were hungry. The boys had been before and had good memories. The experience was rather disappointing. There is definitely a tradition here, but it seems to take precedence over service. My son stood in line waiting to order, while a cashier in the line next to us called up customer after customer to step in front of him (even after he changed lines). That was truly odd. One of the boys had a meatball sub - which was tasty but seemed incomplete without any melted cheese on top or a toasted roll. The other boy ordered a turkey club - which was good, but not exceptional. The only notable thing is the size of the loaves that they cut their bread from - a regular sandwich is really like getting two. We might be back - but it's clearly not the best sandwich shop in town.
