This is a crowded, busy, fun, noisy, energetic , wonderful place with amazing food. Hard to believe it is in upstate NY where haute cuisine typically runs the gamut from Southern Italian to southern italian..Oh, did I mention you can find Italian food in upstate NY? The Dino has the feel of a lively city-maybe Memphis, New Orleans, not upstate NY. The place is busy-prepare for a wait-no reservations for small parties-but you will find that the wait was worth it. First, there is a lot going on so you are entertained by the patrons and by the staff while you wait (def a people watching sort of place). Second, the food is wonderful and the staff are very entertaining. If you are a typical upstate devote sedate family looking for a nice dinner, forget it-you are better off in your usual Italian restaurant around the block-your block. But, if you are energetic and like some fun, this is your place regardless of your age. Diverse patrons, diverse dress, outgoing. The food in unbelievable. So good. So so good. Very reasonably priced. We had the quarter chicken with ribs -comes with 2 sides (everything fresh and wonderful) for something like $8. Amazing. The ribs are never runny and fatty-rather they are finger lick'n good-perfect. There are two different sections in the restaurant-we prefer the back. There is a stage and, at least on weekend, at around 9 they start moving folks off the stage to prepare for live music. If you are visiting from out of town, you might want to check out the momentos on the way out-buy a shirt to show off to those less fortunate than you-those who have not been to the Dino. Also, if you can't actually get there yourself, you can go to their web site and purchase on line so you can pretend to be cool. Also, great place to take a small group for a special occasion. Have fun.
