My mother and I visited Syracuse for a weekend cross-border shopping trip, and opted to stay at the Jefferson Clinton based on the reviews on TripAdvisor. We checked in late on Black Friday (of all days!) and were pleasantly surprised with an upgraded room—from the teeny-tiny "euro" room to the much larger "executive suite". Though the hotel's parking lot was full, valet parking was made available to us for free.
Many others have remarked on the look and feel of the hotel, and I agree with them: it's beautiful! It has been restored with skill and the original architecture shines through in all the right places. (I loved being able to take the stairs to my floor rather than the elevator... and I loved the fact that there was also a set of "servants'" stairs that were used by both the hotel staff.)
The room was comfortable and well-appointed. The yoga mat (with Purell wipes) was a great touch and we were glad to have it... we love doing yoga! Since it was a cold early winter night, we were also very appreciative of the adjustable thermostat, cozy bedding... and the bathtub! Not many hotels have bathtubs these days, and there's nothing like a hot soak to warm up. The rubber ducky on the towels was an adorable touch. :)

Skipping ahead... the included breakfast was delicious! I had read so much about the omelettes that I skipped all the other food options (they were numerous and looked very tasty) and went straight for the omelette station. The chef was skilled and cheerful, and he definitely helped us start the day on the right foot!
I have no complaints about the hotel itself... only the neighbourhood it's in. Unlike some other reviewers, we did not experience any noise from the bars (we faced the MoST on W Jefferson St)... our issues had more to do with the lack of convenience stores/gas stations/etc. in the area. It seemed like the whole area, except for the bars, shut down at 22:00. (Full disclosure: we didn't ask the front desk staff for help before doing this as we were returning to the hotel after a full day of shopping at Discovery USA and just wanted to make a quick stop before turning in for the night.)
Long story short: great stay at the Jefferson Clinton Hotel. I'll definitely stay here on my next trip to Syracuse!More
