“Wow...getting even bigger!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

My daughter and I went to the Syracuse area for a Back to School shopping extravaganza and ended up starting at the Carousel Mall...but we were quickly corrected that it had been changed to 'Destiny USA'. Well, that is a moniker that is very apt. It certainly is an amazing place...I have never seen a mall quite this grandiose...and it's not even completed yet.
The 'old' section is still there and happening, and even the 'under construction' area has a few stores open but it's the architecture and interior design that is awe inspiring.
We had our GPS turned on to it and both times we visited in two days, we had absolutely no problem with finding a great parking spot that was close to an entrance. As a matter of fact they seem to have many accesses and roads leading in and out...extremely easy to get around.
The stores in this mall are very abundant but they have a new 'touch screen' directory that show you not only where you are but actually has an interactive direction indicator, to where you may want to go. Just touch the store you want to go to and it shows you. Very straightforward and simple...although it still takes an awful lot of walking.
If you were going with any one who has mobility issues it may be daunting, although I did see that they had the little drive around buggies, to make it a lot easier.
I will be looking forward to going to this mall in the future to experience it in its completed phase.

“Expanding as we speak!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2012

Destiny USA Mall in Syracuse, New York is getting bigger and bigger. The expansion is not going to be as extensive as first talked about but there are many restaurants going in that were not locally well known. I am excited to walk through and see all the changes going on. I may not be inclined to shop in every store but I like the variety. I feel that it will be a major boost in the economy around this area. Opened in 1990, it is an attraction mostly because it keeps changing with the times and stores have come & gone during that time. I noticed that Eddie Bauer is back and that we will now have an IMAX theater which will be very popular. There is also a Toby Keith restaurant, a comedy club and bowling. It will be nice when it is completed which should be before the holidays.

“back to school shopping was great”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

We just visited Carousel/Destiny Mall with our three kids to do some back-to-school shopping, and it is a great shopping experience. We prefer this mall to the outlets near Syracuse - there is a great selection, and better deals. We come down from Ottawa a couple of times a year and make a weekend out of it. Personally, I love JC Penney's and Macy's.

“We got great deals here today”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2012

We hadn't been to Carousel Mall/Destiny USA in about a year or more. Wow, has it changed in that time! We were school-clothes shopping for two teenagers, and both girls managed to get several items, all reasonably priced. They were thrilled that they could get some different items that (hopefully) everyone else at school won't have. We could hardly believe the size of the Forever 21 store. I don't think we had time to look at half of the merchandise there. That store alone is probably the size of a city block! There are some new restaurants open, with more coming. We enjoyed going to stores we don't have at home (Forever 21, H&M, Papaya). Had never heard of Papaya, but the teens did well in there. Prices were pretty decent. We were at the mall about six hours or so. We will be returning. Oh, some reviewers mentioned the lack of parking. We always park underneath, and lots of people don't even realize there is underground parking, as it's kind of hidden. The lack of signs make the underground lot confusing, though, and people drive the wrong way down one-way aisles.Getting back out of it could be quite confusing for a newcomer, as well. Lots of available parking there, though, and it doesn't matter what the weather's like. Be sure to remember what entrance you entered the mall through, or you could be searching for your car for a long time.

Being from Ottawa this was amazing. The largest mall id ever personally been in. Got so much and couldn't make it the full way. Our feet were so sore that we called it quits. We got everything we wanted everything else would've just been extra
