We had a family event that precluded enjoying all that the B&B had to offer, which only makes us look forward to a return visit!!
The accommodations are lovely. The continental breakfast is really a feast for the eyes and a wonderful breakfast. The hosts are gracious. Really, what more could you want?

Our stay at The Stony Brookside Bed & Bike was just perfect. Elyse and Marty were absolutely wonderful hosts and their expert knowledge of the routes in the area ensured we got to do some really excellent biking.

We specifically came to the Inn to do a cycling vacation. We took our bikes on the LIRR from Brooklyn (which was very easy) and rode to the Inn from Stony Brook Station. Marty and Elyse have a book of bike routes varying in difficulty and length and sat with us and planned a route tailored to our needs. One of the rides we decided to do took us through picturesque villages, a lovely beach, and ended at a vineyard. Road surfaces were all pretty good and most of the roads we took either had a dedicated bike lane, or were very quiet to car traffic.

We stayed in the Village Room which was cosy and had everything we needed. Breakfast was hearty and filling, exactly what we needed to fuel up before our rides. The Inn itself is really pretty and has comfy communal spaces and a garden overlooking a stream and an old grist mill.

We had dinner in Stony Brook Village at the Mirabelle – the fixed price menu there was really great value. And we also visited the Harmony Vineyards just 10 mins from the Inn, which was lovely (the wine wasn't anything too exceptional, but the vineyard itself is definitely worth a trip).

The Stony Brookside Inn is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a relaxing place to stay that's also a fantastic jumping off point for really good rides. That being said, the Inn, village and its surrounding area also make a great spot for anyone looking for a weekend getaway.

Thank you so much for availing yourself of all that our inn and the Stony Brook area has to offer. We designed our inn with visitors like you in mind and we were impressed that you didn't let heat deter your exploration. Come back again, for there are plenty more routes in the book and places to see.

Highly recommend, look forward to reconnecting with Marty and Elyse in the near future.
We enjoyed a scenic bike ride to Port Jefferson on the very same bikes they toured Europe with. Only sorry we couldn't stay longer than one night.

Thanks so much for joining us, although the time was brief. We are so glad you were able to at least get out on our bikes to explore the area a bit. Thanks so much for the local jam. We absolutely love it! That was so thoughtful and special. We look forward to your next visit. See you soon, Elyse & Marty

We had a wonderful stay at The Stony Brookside Bed & Bike Inn. Marty and Elyse were extremely hospitable, they really went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable time. We stayed in the Pond room where we could of course view the pond across the street and all the ducks that consider the Stony Brookside Bed & Bike their home too. Marty and Elise had a full catalog of biking routes around the area where they preloaded a Garmin GPS with our choice of rides for the day. There is no need to drive anywhere once you arrive (they are across the street from Stony Brook Village with several nice dining options), and they offer bikes as well if you don't bring yours. There is a nice walking trail just across the street with a winery about a 1/2 a mile away. We hope to be back soon for another visit!
