The Victorian B&B enhanced our visit to New York City. Our room was comfortable and very clean, Danuta pampered us with wonderful breakfasts, conversation and servicing our room. The ride on the ferry to Lower Manhattan was relaxing and scenic(Statue of Libery, Ellis Island). We would definitely return to the Victorian B&B.

We recently returned from an east coast trip. Several days were spent in Staten Island and my husband researched and booked a three night stay at the Victorian Bed and Breakfast of Staten Island. We found our room to be spacious, comfortable, and lovely. The bath had a superior shower and all of the comforts of home. Breakfast was consistently excellent with fresh, delicious fruit, granola, toast and eggs. Danuta, a warm, interesting woman, is a pleasure. Our experience exceeded expectations.

  • Liked — spacious, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, privacy
  • Disliked — no internet access because we didn't have our own laptop with us

My husband and I stayed here last weekend for my reunion. I have stayed at B&B's before but was never really impressed by them. The Victorian on Staten Island is a different story however. The place is beautiful and spotless. The bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on and we both could not stop bragging about it!! (Hated to go home to my regular bed, lol). Danuta is so friendly and accomodating. Breakfasts were fabulous and the food was abundant.

Highly, highly recommend the Victorian and I can not wait to stay there again!!

My wife and I found the Victorian B&B in the internet after quite a while of research and booked directly. Contact was already very nice beforehand, everything went well and uncomplicated.
Danuta, the landlady, received us very nicely and gave us a beautiful room furnished in victorian style (as is the whole house) and an own bathroom. Everything was well kept and noticeably clean. The breakfast (with fresh fruits, homemade pancakes, juice and coffee) was one of the best we found during our whole trip!
It was a great time with Danuta and some fellow travellers and surely the best vaue for money you can get in whole NYC :-)
Just don't let the slightly run-down neighbourhood scare you off! Victorian B&B is a lovely place to stay and the Staten Island Ferry brings you directly to Manhattan for free.
We will surely come back for our next trip to NYC.

We have just returned from a 2 week stay in the USA and spent the first 3 nights in the Victorian B & B at Taylor Street on Staten Island. The Proprietor, Danuta was a wonderful host and her breakfasts were absolutely delicious, very varied and plentiful. We certainly enjoyed her company and found her very interesting and helpful. Our room was big and very clean and we had access to many homely facilities, although we didn't have the time to enjoy them all as we were off early each morning to catch the free Staten Island ferry which is not too far in the car (approx 2 miles) (bus stop also near B & B) and spent the whole day seeing as much as we could cram in in Manhatten. To us it was an ideal base to explore New York as you didn't have to get caught up in all the traffic and from the ferry you could get the Metro to anywhere you wanted in Manhatten. It was certainly very homely and personal and far less expensive than staying in Manhatten itself and yet it didn't take us long to get there on the 24 hour run regular ferry crossings.

The rest of our holiday was spent in Delaware and as we were staying with family we'd be biased in our recommendations and they don't do bed and breakfast!

Dear reader,
these lines are aimed to share with you the experiences we had at Danuta's Victorian Bed and Breakfast in Staten Island. Danuta's house is about 40min taxi drive away from New York JFK airport at normal traffic conditions and lies in a green, quiet and safe neighborhood with many other villas. For those aiming to see Manhattan, the bus stop is just 1 minute away with direct connection (approx. 15 min to the Staten Island Ferry), small shops and restaurants can be found on the main street near Danutas' house.

We felt particularly at home with Danuta as she shared her beautiful house with us, along with all the history the walls (and sometimes Danuta) tell you. The warm and honest hospitality you can experience at her house has become rare in the days of anonymous five star hotels around the world. Coming back from Manhattan, Danuta's place was perfect to relax from the crowd and noise of the city. In case of questions, Danuta was very helpful to get us "Tourists" a perfect start on Staten Island and Manhattan.

As the other reviews already stated, breakfast is fantastic and Danuta is very sensible related to her guests preferences. The two rooms we used were both very comfortable, good beds, large (for New York City measures huge ;-) ) bathrooms. All the small details are taken care of. Of course, the whole house is very clean (what amount of work!). If you arrive by plane, make sure you print out a map from yahoo or other to check that the taxi driver makes the right directions... GPS systems have not made their breakthrough into NYC cabs yet.

For the next visit to New York, we are looking forward to stay again at Danuta's place.

This B&B was the nicest place to stay . We were so glad and felt so lucky when we first arrived there and met the owner: Danuta G.
She welcomed us with iced tea and showed us around, and we were amazed about the place. Our accomodations were so neat and carefully prepared that we felt very comfortable at all times, clean and elegant in a very VICTORIAN style, we felt like in an old time story.
Each morning Danuta was ready with wonderful breakfasts that really made our days ! and sharing with us very interesting conversations. Breakfasts consisted of fresh fruit, juice, coffee, eggs, polish pancakes, english muffins among other choices... it wasn't a regular continental breakfast , it was a real TASTY BREAKFAST!
Location wasn't bad at all... it's located very close to the free ferry station that takes you everyday at aytime to Manhattan.

Thanks Danuta for your warm athmosphere and for making our trip so special !
