“S> I. Museum”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is a three story building with many many rooms and wonderful exhibits. There is a $5 fee. It gives you a pretty good idea of what Staten Island is all about and what it has to offer. It is just up the hill from the SI Ferry.

“very nice”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

Wasn't sure what to expect here, but it was great. Lots of hands-on science and ecological stuff. My kids were suffering from lets-go-back-to-times-squareitis, but I was pleasantly surprised that they really got into it. I had to pull all three of my kids out of there. Allow about an hour, especially if the kids get into drawing birds, etc....Well worth the small fee.

“Great intro for children (and your inner child)”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

Located up hill from the SI Ferry and also at Snug Harbor Cultural Center, this is a place where local children have their first museum experience. The current show is about cicadas and has a big lighted sculpture outside, so drive by the night before your visit to build your excitement. The nature programs are amazing! Check out the calendar to reserve your space.

“Another secret”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

The SI Museum gets some tourist traffic, but i think way too many Staten Islanders have yet to discover it. They have some interesting displays and the staff works incredibly hard to keep things fresh & interesting.

“Low key and pleasant”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

I don't tend to think of any part of NYC as low key and relaxing, but that is what this little museum is! I took the ferry and spotted the museum easily from just outside the terminal. The staff was welcoming, and the several small exhibits were interesting. Don't miss the glow in the dark rocks!
