We had a wonderful stay. The restaurant staff was very friendly and helpful since we came down between breskfast and lunch and needed coffee. They were very courteous to my elderly parents. I greatly appreciated them.

We selected this hotel because my granddaughter wanted to visit Carlo's Bake Shop (Cake Boss) in Hoboken. The hotel was clean, the staff very pleasant and helpful. My granddaughter got a small laceration on her chin playing around the pool. We had Band-Aids but no antibiotic ointment. The hotel staff quickly provided us with small packets of Bacitracin. We had 3 people in the room and only 2 sets of towels. Again we were quickly and pleasantly brought another set. Very enjoyable overnight stay enroute to New England.

Imagine how lovely a feeling it is to be personally greeted and welcomed back to a wonderful hotel by gracious owners. Although this was not our first time at the Hilton Garden Inn NewYork/Staten Island, it was a wonderful experience to meet Lois and Richard Nicotra, who made every guest at Lorenzo’s, the hotel’s premier dining restaurant, feel special by their individual attention and conversation.

During dinner Jimmy, our attentive waiter, exemplified customer care along with checking on us to see that everything was good and to our satisfaction. Wilson was a constant, helpful presence, checking to see that our water glasses were filled and whether we needed extra napkins or bread.

The next morning at breakfast, Lisa could not have been more welcoming, and she went out of her way to show a genuine concern that we were enjoying the delicious variety of food offerings. As we chatted, Rich and I enjoyed a long lingering breakfast with Nil frequently checking on us and re-filling our coffee and water, while Mike prepared the perfect omelet. Their careful attention to our requests was appreciated.

As we were leaving, and about take coffee to-go from the dispenser near the door, Lisa said, “wait I'll get two hotter cups from the back.”

This gracious attention to detail was not surprising. When we first parked, we were impressed by the well-maintained landscape, which included touches like flower-pots on lamp-posts in the parking lot, and the beautiful touches in the lobby decor, but even more so the hotel's personnel made us feel like welcomed guests throughout our stay, starting with Kay and Samantha at the front desk, who Rich talked to numerous times about our special Housekeeping requests. Samantha made it her priority to check with us to insure that our individual requests were honored. Murat and Alkid, in the dining room, who so graciously provided fruit and afternoon tea while Housekeeping put the final touches on our room; Jacob and Sandra who greeted us so warmly at dinner that night and breakfast the next morning; Christine, Jodi and Nancy at the front desk who helped us trouble-shoot the printer in the business center, and made sure we had cold water for the drive home; Dim in Housekeeping who delivered extra supplies and made sure our cable TV was in working order.

As Hilton Gold members for close to two decades, we are accustomed to excellent service and found it at the Hilton Garden Inn NewYork/Staten Island. In fact, we were so pleased with our stay, our next foray into Staten Island to meet longtime friends for lunch, will be at Lorenzo's.

Great stay! Zero complaints, everything was great. Location, staff and the room were all as expected. It's a little tricky to find but if you have a GPS or google maps it's fine. You just can't see it from the road.

Halls and the elevator hot and humid. Many rooms without Safe had to use safe deposit at front desk Called for Turn Down Service on Sat and Sun and it never happen Service Staff unfriendly especially in bar and restaurant

Dear John C,

Thank you for your review, I do apologize that you experience with us was enjoyable. Unfortunately the duration of time you spent with us the heat outside was so bad that the A/C for our business and others weren't working to their full potential. As for the request for the turn down service, normally for the Hilton Garden Inn that isn't an amenity that we offer but if you requested it they staff should have gotten it done and I do apologize personally for that. I will speak with the Front Desk and Housekeeping about that and also the Restaurant Manager about the service/attitude for the bar and restaurant employees. If you find yourself in our area again and give us another chance please contact me directly so we can make sure you have an enjoyable expereicne with us the second time around.
