“Peace and Serenity in the City”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

The Alice Austen House and Museum is a beautifully uncomplicated haven to restore one's
well-being. Flowers and plants abound at this site located close to the Verazzano-Narrows Bridge. It is readily accessible by bus from the ferry in St. George, Staten Island. Learn and see how Alice Austen became famous for her photograph skills when the art was dominated by men.

“RELAXING, ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE!!”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

Beautiful water-front house with gorgeous views near the Verrazano Bridge. Great place to see fireworks! The Alice Austen House Museum and Garden is in of itself an unforgettable experience once you see and learn of the history. This place was featured in the movie "How to Lose a Guy in 10 days", with starring actors Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

It was a little oasis in Staten Island. The grounds were beautiful, lovely flowers. We stayed at the Bed and Breakfast next door and enjoyed coming to the Alice Austen House.

“Nice, Clean and Helpful”
Reviewed May 25, 2012

This is THE place to find religious items. I found a rosary and a coin with St. Francis on it for Mother's Day. There is an array of items and the people there are very friendly.
