This was my second stay at the Comfort Inn in Staten Island. The hotel is located in a small cammpus next to other hotels. The area is very quiet and scenic. Check-in was quick. The room temperature was kept perfect by a heater/AC unit with a strong constant-speed fan; this also kept outside noise from my room. Coffee maker was a nice two-cup unit, and the condiments were great (one pack handled both of my cups). Plenty of outlets on the small desk, and the lighting was good. Hot water & shower was great.

1 1/2 small gripes. The internet was intermittent, and ranged from slow & choppy to no connection (had to revert to my mobile internet). Low-water toilets are great for the environment, but they're hard to flush and not up to the job.

I would come back here in a heartbeat. One of the nicer hotels I've stayed in quite a while.

Room Tip: All rooms should be good except those right by the elevator.

The hotel is located in an odd location. Parking is VERY limited. The reviews others have written tell most of the story. Its a mid level hotel. The rooms are indeed on the small side with no chair or table, other than a tiny desk and office chiar. After placing the phone and lamp on the table, there is about enough room for a book left. The breakfast is well run by a very nice employee on the day I was there. The window curtains were soiled, the bed spread had 2 burn holes in it, the carpet had some gouges in it. The housekeeping staff was still working to complete the days tasks at 4pm. The hotel appeared clean overall, and note that this seems to be a rather new property. Halls were tiny and poorly lit, the one elevator was adequate and the front desk was well mannered. Next to it is a holiday inn express and a vacant yet to be branded property. All 3 appear to be owned by the same party. Getting to the hotel requires several turns down residential streets and could be confusing to an out of towner. The price was good for the night I needed to be there. Overall a spartan property.

Room Tip: I would suggest at least the 2nd floor and that would be best, during busy hours the one elevator ma...

I was attending a wedding in staten Island and decided to stay overnight rather than drive home. No complaints about the hotel. Rooms are clean and the staff helpful, but this shoud be expected. Breakfast ends at 9:00 on the weekends which is far too early. Tourists to NYC may be attracted to this hotel by the low rates. Be aware that this hotel is on the far south westside of staten island. While the hotel provides a shuttle to the staten island ferry it does not run all the time. You may end up spending your vacation time as a commuter. There is a small strip mall next to the hotel but that is about it. If you are a tourist on a budget you may want to consider one of the new hotels in brooklyn. Brooklyn has much more character than staten island, Transportation to Manhattan is far superior. If you do decide to stay in brooklyn read the hotel reviews and choose a neighborhood carefully.

Room Tip: There is only one elevator that is slow and is also used by the staff. You may wish to ask for a roo...

We were greeted in a very professional manner by Cubie who answered all of our questions.

She is an asset to your organization and should be recognized accordingly.

This hotel was our main base for staying at and sight seeing NYC!! We stayed at this hotel for a staff get away. Initially we were booked at a hotel in Jersey City but upon reading the bad reviews I decided to do a little research and found this had very good ratings in general from TripAdvisor users! I phoned two days before arriving and the manager made arrangements for us to all stay with out having to switch rooms halfway through as the hotel was already fully booked for the weekend! Vijay was his name. He lined up a taxi company for us to use from the airport as well. Our room was right across from the elevator and it was nice and quite. I was concerned when I saw the closeness to the elevator but was not bothered by it at all. The rooms were very sound proof! The breakfast is good if you get up early enough. My staff ate every morning for the five mornings and the only complaint was after 8:30 nothing was refilled. So get down early. To get to NYC they have a courtesy shuttle from hotel to the Statan Island Ferry terminal. When we were there it only ran Thursday to Sunday. You MUST sign up for a designated time. The shuttle only fits 14 people, but the Comfort Inn shares it with the Holiday Inn that is right beside them. Which means it takes only 7 from the Comfort Inn. If the Holiday Inn do NOT use their 7 seats, then the Comfort Inn can use more seats! You have to sign up the day before. So first come first serve. We ended up getting a taxi to the ferry terminal a few mornings which cost about 19-24 dollars depending on taxi service. It is a 25 minute ride to ferry terminal. The ferry is then another 20 minute ride to NYC. We saved ALOT of money this way on rooms. I would stay here again for a visit to NYC because of the great price and room selection. Long as you are prepared for a hour trip to get to NYC!!

This hotel is a little out of the way if you are planning to visit New York a lot, but they offer a free Shuttle to the Staten Island Ferry and from there is a short hop to downtown New York. Rooms are a bit small but cozy, and very clean. They have smoking rooms if you are the smoking type.
All the staff is very friendly and helpful, specially "Cubie" Vincent at the front lobby, She is always all smiles and ready to help the guests with directions to the best restaurants and attractions around the area or changing rooms, maps, etc.

A great place to stay not far from the "heart" of NYC.
Rooms were a little smaller than normal, but we're manageable.
The best part about this stay was the service. Hands-down the best customer service of any hotel I've ever stayed in. And Cubie was one of the most genuine people and really took pride in assisting patrons.
I would choose this hotel for my next visit to NYC because of the service alone.
