We have eaten here a few times and every time was near flawless. Fresh food, Great communication, servers don't try to upsell every item from the bar and paired with a friendly FOH yet mostly quiet with their bar in close proximity so off hour meals are usually better and more quiet. Go on a Friday or Saturday and knit-pick... well anywhere would offer a chance at a poor review at that point. This place gets busy and packed because its good food and good service. I do recommend going slightly before their rushes as stated previously.

I lived in Stamford awhile ago and the restaurant selections were limited (at best). This was within walking distance of our B&B (Stamford Gables) and was recommended there. We ate here 2 nights. Excellent fresh food (hangar steak one night, shrimp alfredo the second), good beer on tap(Fat Dog Oatmeal Stout). Prices were reasonable. They also serve lunch. Worth the stop!

Traveling alone, I went to dinner at Gabrielle's based upon the recommendation of a local lodging owner, expecting a nice place, and was disappointed. Upon arriving, one server disdainfully said to another "Can you seat this guy?" I ordered a glass of merlot to relax. Special for the Friday night was prime rib; so I ordered a queen cut - cooked medium - with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. The appetizer I ordered was a soup - which though tasty was, when presented, spilled sloppily over the sides of the cup and onto the small serving plate - not very appetizing. One slightly stale roll accompanied by garlic butter arrived. Salt and pepper were missing from the table. Less than five spoonfuls after the appetizer appeared, a HUGE portion of well-done/overcooked prime rib and HUGE mound of mashed potatoes with 5 cold white asparagus stalks arrived in front of me. The meat was tough and dry, made palatable only by a small container of juice. By weight and quantity the plate contents could have served 3 people - yet the food was poorly prepared. I could only make my way through perhaps a quarter of the food -due to its poor preparation. $22 for the food, $5 for the wine = $27 not including the tip. Suggestion: better preparation and presentation of food, far less quantity, improved training for the wait staff.
