My wife and I had read good and bad reviews of the Red Osier, but it was half way between my relatives home in Buffalo and ours in Rochester, so we decided to give it a try. The parking lot gave us our first negative thought; we have a normal sized car but to park in the designated areas, you practically have to do a 3 point turn and then its tight. They are in a rural area with nothing around them; can't they expand their lot?
You walk in the front door and the hostess station is right there by the door, and there is a partition within feet closing off the bar, so there is virtually no room for more than 2 people to wait while you talk to the hostess and then wait for your table. Perhaps they are trying to encourage you to go to the bar to wait, but that was already packed.
As I said in the title, the food and service were very good, but the tables are small and they really pack you in; when all 4 of us were served, our plates were practically touching each other, and twice during the meal the people at the next table bumped their chairs into ours. Even tho the food, service and prices were good, the crowded atmosphere took away from our dining experience, and I don't feel like I can give it more than 3 stars (Average).
