“Good Mexican food and economica;!”
Reviewed August 9, 2014

We went there on a weeknight, early so no music. But the food was excellent and lots of food for the price. Wife and i left full!

Atmosphere is great for a local place and service was excellent.

“The smothered of all refriedness”
Reviewed July 27, 2014

Ignore the exterior challenged neighborhood murals. What is inside will delight. The décor is busy with painted walls and ceilings offering snippets of the proprietors experiences friends and many others; Baubles are hanging every where. Lots of tables but space is not generous. Sound level is concert level loud so if you are on a first date, forget dialoguing. Right away they offered free stuff. The essential chip and salsa, shortly followed by some chips from the oven smothered in cheese with guacamole. The margaritas are stout and tequila was very generous. Staff was attentive and always available. We ordered the Ninos Envuelto and the Huarache, both steak dishes. Of course it was all smothered with Mexican sauces. But the flavors were good and beef tender enough. At end of meal they provided another sweet dessert ice cream delish taco thinghy. It is a fun place to go, and enjoy good Mexican food. Meals are a bit pricey.

“HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE THIS PLACE?”
Reviewed July 10, 2014

Kind of spooky from the outside and real cozy on the inside.
This is what a Mexican restaurant is all about.
Great food, great selections, large drinks, lots of freebees at a reasonable price.

“Nah”
Reviewed May 17, 2014

Nice to see what they have done with the place after so many years, however, food was bland and the flavor was salt, no seasoning.

Meatball soup, what kind of meat is that?

“authentic mexican food, but disappointed tonight”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

We have been here several times. I have to say that last nights outing here was VERY hectic!! The place was packed. They were bringing in tables and chairs from the back and were seating more people. With it being this packed the service lacked. Usually the owner is very cheerful and always comes over and has a smile on his face. Not the case last night! He actually seemed a little rude to us. When we walked in we were a table for 9. He asked if we were all there. We were except we were missing one that was on her way and would arrive shortly. He rudely told us we could not be seated until we were all there. It took a long time before the waiter came over to the table to ask for drink orders. Mean while our mouths were on fire from the salsa. They also didn't serve the dip that reminds me of tomato soup, but is yummy! Our food arrived in a timely manner, but we had to ask several times for the forks and napkins that were missing from a few of us. The food was good as usual. It's authentic and hot when it comes to the table. They had a full mariachi band which was loud and played. Usually when we go it's just a solo guy playing. They usually serve you a shot of the stuff that tastes like vanilla at dessert time, but we didn't even get that! Very disappointed in our experience tonight! We spent close to $300 too. I think they were very overwhelmed tonight which lacked on the service. We also went early at 5:30 to beat the crowds and boy were we wrong!!
