Description: A Lure, located at the landmark Port of Egypt Marina, is the North Fork's newest waterfront seafood restaurant and the newest joint venture by celebrated chef Tom Schaudel and restaurateur Adam Lovett. The duo, known for aMano in Mattituck, Passionfish in Westhampton Beach and Jedediah Hawkins in Jamesport, is joined by chef de cuisine and partner Jeff Uguil who leads in the kitchen. The idea behind A Lure is to create a seafood chowder house, serving impeccably fresh fish and seafood, in a relatively casual and convivial setting for locals, boaters, day-trippers and vacationers on the idyllic North Fork of Long Island wine country.

Last weekend was a weekend for marina restaurants at lunch. I sat outside with my friend and had a light tuna tartare accompanied by a $5 glass of Chardonnay. Foccacia bread was on the table which was quite good too.

Ate here last weekend with 3 other couples. Had reservations and there was a 3 minute wait to set the table. It was restaurant week and menu was limited. Everyone found something they likes. Price was $28.99 for appetizer, main course and dessert. Dri9nk prices were a little steep. $11.00 for house pinot grigio. We were not rushed and out waitress was one of the best in a long time. Definitely worth the money.

We went to A Lure on a Sunday night for their fixed price menu. Our group of 4 ordered a variety of menu items and all of the food was great. However, the waitress was surly and the service was very slow. It took 30 minutes from the time we were seated until we got our drinks. We had to ask two different people 3 times to get our water glasses refilled.

When I asked that my swordfish be cooked slightly underdone, the waitress said 'sorry the chef [?] can't take the temperature of the swordfish'. oy vey. the food is mediocre and the atmosphere is poor. never again.

We read some good reviews and decided to stop by mid-week. Maybe this wasn't a good day or something. The staff was polite, but not very attentive. The food was overpriced and mostly nothing out of this world. One exception - P.E.I. Mussels - loved them.
