“Excellent B&B”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. I am not very fond of B&B; never had a good experience until now. We had the place to ourselves. The place was very clean. Breakfast was awesome. Fresh-sqeezed juice which we converted to mimosas, homemade edelskivers (mini pancakes), eggs, and plenty more. No skimping at all. Great location; across the beach from the beach. She recommended a few places to eat in Greenport which were great (Noah's and Frisky Oyster). I would go back. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.

We loved the Shorecrest - the bed wasn't the most comfortable I've slept in, but otherwise we couldn't have asked for more. Very clean, beautiful location, delicious food, gracious host, and friendly guests to chat with - we had a wonderful weekend!

Room Tip: All the rooms are a little tight, espeically the bathrooms, so pack lightly.

My husband and I stayed at the Shorecrest B & B last weekend for our 30th wedding anniversary, in the East room. From the moment we arrived it felt like home, cozy, filled with lovely antiques and lots of great books. Many areas available for lounging with a cup of tea! Nicely located too with views of the LI Sound and a lovely pond area to the rear. Marilyn is a very gracious innkeeper and provides a really wonderful breakfast where we were pleased to spend time and get to know the other guests. I would definitely stay at the Shorecrest again!

Room Tip: I think the Silk room is probably the largest. And the Rose room is on the first floor. Front room...

We adore the Shorecrest Beach House so much that we have rented it 4 times! We cannot get enough of the incredible waterfront views and always eat all of our meals sitting on the porch or the lawn. In fact, it is the only house where I have ever enjoyed doing the dishes because I can watch the sunset at the same time.

And the location is absolutely perfect – 2 minutes from vineyards, organic farms and Greenport but also very secluded, private and quiet.

We have been there in the summer but also love to come in the fall and spend time pumpkin and apple picking and going to the wineries during the day, and getting cozy by the fireplace at night.

Plus, it’s a big enough house for us to have our kids in separate rooms and even more friends too. The rooms are clean with simple elegant furnishings.

We can’t recommend this house more – but hesitate to do so because we don’t want anyone to discover our secret!

- N&M, parents of 2, Brooklyn, NY.

Room Tip: The house has a gorgeous new loft upstairs which is great for kids.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a relaxing weekend in the North Fork area and the Shorecrest delivered. From the moment we got there on Friday evening, Marilyn, the innkeeper, warmly welcomed. She helped us with dinner reservations that night and gave suggestions on what to do and where to go. We were traveling with "Brooklyn," our green cheeked conure (small parrot) and Marilyn was graciously accommodating in allowing us to bring her.

What stood out to me though was the breakfast Marilyn prepared and how it was laid out. There was one dining table for ten, where everyone took spots and helped themselves to what was made (Marilyn even prepared vegan dishes, knowing that my girlfriend is vegan). Making it easier to talk to the other guests, only added to the warm feeling of the Shorecrest.

The inn itself is beautiful, with a meticulously maintained garden, well appointed common areas (living room, library and sun room) and a cozy room upstairs with a great view of the Long Island Sound. The inn had plenty of magazines and books to borrow, as well as afternoon ice tea and snacks. By the door there's a candy dish that seems to never go empty.

And on Sunday, as we were about to head out, Marilyn even gave Brooklyn some fruit for the road.

In all, we had a great stay, and would definitely book again. Hopefully for a longer time!

Room Tip: If you take a room with a view of the Sound, remember that you will be facing the road, and dependin...

After having read all the rave reviews about Shorecrest (and Mariyn), my boyfriend and I decided to try it out for an extended getaway. We are so happy we did. The B&B is so charming and peaceful, the rooms are nicely appointed, the gardens look as if someone painted them in. It really is everything a B&B should be--comfy beds, absolutely delicious homemade breakfast in the mornings, homemade cookies served with tea in the evening, a hammock to spend a lazy afternoon. It was my boyfriend's birthday a few days before our stay and Marilyn was so sweet to gift us with a complimentary bottle of brut rose to help us celebrate. I would highly recommend the Shorecrest and am already looking forward to our next visit!

It was as we remembered and maybe a touch more. The icing on the cake, after a stay in New York city and before the trip back across the pond, was a relaxing short stay at Shorecrest. Surrounded by an artists pallette of interior design and the loveliest gardens we've seen for a while (since we live in the land of the 'gardeners world' that's saying something) we once again enjoyed our 'chill out'; weekend. Thank you Marilyn for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. Hopefully we will get back next year.
