“Excellent lunch!!”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

There were four of us and we all had something different, and everything was absolutely delicious!! The sandwiches were made with fresh ingredients. My mother had the pea soup and she said it was almost as good as what I make, and that is a compliment. I had the Sag Harbor sandwich (excellent).

“Best Breakfast in the Hamptons”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

This Golden Pear is THE place to go for breakfast in Southampton. Golden Pear offers a great selection of muffins, salads, sandwiches, soups and freshly made coffees. It is always a warm and cozy place to pick up local gossip and coffee on winter mornings. And during the summers, it is a great people watching spot. I like to read Dan's Papers at a table by the window if it is not too crowded. Although the coffee is inexpensive, the food items probably cost a bit more than what people normally expect to pay for a casual cafe. For about $18, you can get a freshly toasted bagel platter with nova that comes with sprigs of dill, huge hot house tomatoes, generous slices of red onion, cucumbers, with capers, with a slice of ripe cantaloupe and berries. This is my favorite breakfast and I have it year round. For lunch, I would recommend the sandwiches which come with a salad, or the chili. They also offer specials everyday. Due to the popularity, the wait staff are a bit harried during high traffic time periods, but they have always been very considerate when they have time to catch their breath. It is also a child friendly place to eat and is open really early in the mornings year round. The Golden Pear is perfectly located at the corner of Hampton Road and Main Street. I would highly recommend the Golden Pear on your next trip to the Hamptons.

“Fabulous food, cakes and coffee”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

This place is small but has amazing sandwiches, salads, cakes and drinks (hot and cold) and does take out too. We visited out of season and service was quick and the food was lovely. Had a tuna sandwich with a salad that was made out of sugared walnuts, beetroot, cheese, lettuce and it was incredibly tasty. Would highly recommend.

“Order Quickly, Expect to Pay Alot”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

The Golden Pear is in a very convenient location in the center of Southampton. Their coffee and muffins are always good. However, the waitstaff is frequently harried and brusque so you'd better know what you want to order before getting on line. The prices are a real eye-opener--I ordered a coffee cup size of macaroni and cheese and it was just ok, with the top third of the cup breadcrumbs, and paid nearly $10 for it. The wraps are a little on the dry side although the soups and chili are quite tasty.

“Quick and Delicious”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

Largely self-service, the Golden Pear is a great place for coffee and.... They sell beautiful, house-made pastries and muffins, and bagels of all types. Their breakfasts are quick and delicious and include great organic oatmeal, organic eggs and nova. But lunch takes the cake...with their wonderful soups and salads and specialty dishes daily. They have locations in East Hampton, Sag Harbor and Southampton. Each site has its own personality but all are comfortable, light and bright.
