“decent prices but average food”
Reviewed December 31, 2013

Was drawn to breakfast at the Village Gourmet Cheese Shop based on the variety and fair prices. Service was ok but nothing special and not friendly, despite being quite empty at this time of year. I would not go back for breakfast. Maybe one of the sandwiches at lunch might be more tasty.

“Think Golden Pear...with imported goods.”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

This is a cute little gourmet food/deli shop on Main street where you can find many imported goods.
Many locals (and visitors) have made this place a destination for lunch as you will find a large menu offering sandwiches, wraps, paninis and great salads. It reminds of the Golden Pear...with a gourmet deli feel to it.
They also allow you to make your own which is extremely convenient!

However, when one leaves work to go get a wrap and a plateau of cheese because the employee taking the phone order doesn't want to cooperate, it would be best to offer a smile and a polite answer instead of a sigh and a head-turning-the-other-way meaning "I don't care, go bother somebody else".
Granted it is the end of the season but, you are open year round, you have a wide local clientele and customer service should still be a priority...especially when you are selling 4 pieces of cheese for $60.

My advice: should you have the courage to do so, jump in your car and try Citarella Bridgehampton for imported goods / Cavagnola in Sag for Cheese.
