We had a party of 9 and the service was incredible. We showed up more than 30 minutes early for our reservation and we seated and told to take our time. The food was fabulous. We would absolutely frequent again.

Unlike a couple of other reviews, we had a very pleasant evening at Joelle's. We, too, sat next to the door to the lavatory, but found this to be absolutely no problem whatsoever. The set menu was very reasonably priced (about $35) for 3 wonderful courses, including a couple of specials. The wine list is small, but nicely chosen and relatively reasonable. The host was friendly and had good thoughts on the wine, though the server seemed to be much less knowledgeable. Very pleasant and I'd recommend it highly.

"This was an all-around great experience. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is very romantic, the service efficient and the patio outside is a gem. I would go back here in a heartbeat."

Excellent, authentic French restaurant just north of the charming lakeside town of Skaneateles. The host, Alain, was warm and welcoming, and the dishes from Joelle's kitchen were superb. We started with the crab soufflé and the beet and apple salad; both were wonderfully prepared and presented though the soufflé could have had, perhaps, a bit more flavor. I had a chicken, prune, and raisin tagine to follow, while my husband had the cassoulet. Both are complex, involved dishes to prepare and were very flavorful indeed. The portions were copious. For dessert, I couldn't resist the chocolate mousse, and my husband chose the delectable-sounding coconut-rum crème caramel. Both were delicious, my mousse not cloyingly sweet as is too often the case, but well-balanced, with a melt-in-your-mouth deep chocolate flavor. My husband also found his crème caramel perfectly balanced, with great texture and flavor and not overly sweet. These items were from the prix fixe bistro menu (3 courses for $35.75), which for the quality, quantity, and sophistication of the food is an amazing value. Highly recommended!!!

We've been to Joelle's at least 5 times since they opened and have always had a wonderful time. The food is out of this world, the service is friendly and knowledgable and it's no more expensive than other places in town. To be fair, we have had a few mis-steps over the course of our visits-an undercooked steak that was sent back and corrected (the au poivre is unbelievable!), a boullabaise in which the seafood was overcooked (not sent back or mentioned) and a french server (possibly a relative) who attempted to serve us someone elses entrees and upon clearing our entrees, she again attempted to serve us someone elses entrees-completely inept. Chef Joelle has come out to our table on a couple of occassions to check on our meals and owner Alan has offered us an after dinner liqueur on each of our visits. This is truly one of our favorite places in Central NY, but you should check it out for yourself and come to your own conclusion.
