Description: Our dining incorporates the spirit of wellness and balance by spotlighting local products and organic whenever feasible. We take great care to use the culinary talents of our team to incorporate house made baked goods, aged beef, Finger Lakes produce and cheeses into your stay with us. The Dining Room at Mirbeau takes the form of The French themed dining room every evening when the lights are dimmed and the music gets a little progressive. Classic table-side Caesar Salad as well as seafood flown in fresh daily complement the variety of comfort foods on our seasonal menu. Have fun sharing in this culinary experience.

Second trip to Mirbeau, first time eating in the dining room. The menu was very nice, lots of good choices. Started out with a bang with the fresh bacon...how could you go wrong? Entrees were nice - filet was tender as anything but the duck breast was a little tough and the smoked jalapeño-rasberry coulis was missing. The 'piping hot' cast iron mini-pan with the spoon bread was barely warm actually. Next day's brunch (the European continental) was really good and a great value. And of course, the spa.

The shrimp & polenta was to die for, as my hubs also enjoyed the filet. Hot breakfast choices are lovely & well presented - we've never stuck to the continental.

The food is good ... the service, very nice ... but the best plan is to visit the bar, here, and enjoy their excellent wine selection.

We had a very nice meal at Mirbeau on Christmas day. There was a carving station with prime rib and a ham as well as an omelet station. We only had the meats and they were good. I enjoyed the prime rib with horseradish sauce more than the ham. The ham was rather plain, but still good. There was a nice selection of appetizers. Shrimp cocktail with a nice and spicy cocktail sauce and large very fresh shrimp. The cheese and charcuterie platter was very nice. I had a couple brie selections on toasted baguettes. There were delicious sides, bacon mac n cheese and the best fingerling potatoes I have ever had. There was a kids station with plain mac n cheese, chicken fingers and French fries. A very nice variety of desserts with lots of different flavors and textures. Overall it was very nice to be able to come in and have an effortless meal on Christmas day. They were very welcoming to our almost three year old. I got to enjoy a nice glass of wine instead of cooking and cleaning. There wasn't a massive variety of food, but that is not what I would expect at Mirbeau. The items they had were well done and there was enough to please many palates. I would definitely return for a holiday meal.

I included a much longer review with my review of the Mirbeau spa. Nothing about our dinners was satisfactory. Shrimp and scallops overcooked and rubbery, black cod served at room temperature, roasted vegetables served charred, portions very small (2 shrimp, 2 scallops for $32). Champagne cocktails served at room temperature. All of this was disappointing and at nearly $400 for dinner for four, we naturally expected much better. The mater dei offered nothing but a weak apology. There are too many better options in Skaneateles than to return.
