“Way too expensive for what you get.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

Our breakfast was included each day in our package, and it was quite good! We had dinner there one night, eating outside of the main dining room was great but it was WAY OVER priced! $15.00 for a simple glass of wine? Come on!

“Wow! OUTSTANDING local farm to table flavors!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

This was the most romantic and best meal ever! Chefs are highly trained and everything is good! They use fresh farm to table local ingredients and change the menu up. All flavors are perfectly balanced. China is so trendy and makes this an experience for the senses! View is so beautiful and romantic. Staff will even take photographs of you together on bridge and honor requests for various poses, zooming in and out. Staff explains all ingredients and flavors. Get the package (spa and dinner) for the best value. We don't usually have four courses but this is the place to do it. They can wrap up what you don't finish and there is a refrigerator in room and you can request a microwave to reheat! Chef gave complimentary palate cleansers that were so enjoyable. The have frequent workshops, etc. and they pass along to diner guests. We were lucky enough to try lavender ice cream with thistle honey! The decaf coffee was the BEST we have ever had. It tasted like regular coffee. We wish we lived closer because I'd want to go there for every birthday, anniversary, or special occasion. All staff at this resort are educated and highly trained in customer satisfaction. They pampered us because they were sincere and genuine and just the best character people you will ever meet. All are so kind and have the largest hearts. You can tell they are happy, positive people, and it is contagious. The chef came out to meet us personally and not only agreed to substitute the breakfast for "meal to go" because we had to check out before breakfast was served that he gave us menu options and asked us what we would like to make sure we were satisfied. We were BEYOND happy and we were touched. They didn't make us feel like we were inconveniencing them. They truly cared about us. They are true people pleasers!

“Gorgeous place, food was good not great”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013

Mirbeau Inn is a gorgeous place. The service was fantastic and the waitress was very accommodating. They asked if we had food allergies which we didn't but nice that they asked. My husband had the surf and turf and the steak was pretty bland. I had shrimp and grits and it was tasty. I also ordered the spring salad and the vinaigrette dressing had way too much vinegar, not enough olive oil. The lobster bisque soup was pretty good. Overall the food was good, but not something I would say I just HAD to go back and try again. Service was impeccable though.

“Delish!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2013

Stumbled across this lovely inn and its lovey inner court for lunch. The menu was fresh and inventive ... and delish! We ordered the meatloaf cupcakes (iced with mashed potatoes with sprinkles of bacon!) and the falafel wrap on naan bread. Great food, great atmosphere, great services and very reasonable ... about $12 per person. Will return next time we are in Skaneateles!

“Excellent Mother's Day Buffet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

We brought my mother to the Mother's Day buffet at the 1 PM seating. The buffet was more expensive than others we had looked at, but we liked the selection and the location. The dining room was cozy and comfortable, and the food stations were set up conveniently. The line for the main part of the hot buffet had a bit of a line at times, but moved reasonably quickly. The service was friendly and efficient with filling the beverages and removing used plates. The food was uniformly excellent, with a nice variety. There was no item that I was sorry to have taken on my plate (and I tried most of the items). Particularly good were the twice-baked french toast, the tenderloin at the carving station, the chicken fingers (at the kids' area) and the desserts.

A few things of note:
The seatings were at 11 AM, 11:30 AM, 1 PM, 1:30 PM and 3 PM. We arrived early for our seating, at about 12:30 PM, and were told it would be a "few minutes." In truth, they restocked the buffet before the 1 PM seating, so nobody was seated early. There are gardens to walk around, but the weather was a bit chilly and most people ended up waiting in the small lobby area.
The two roasts at the carving station were pork and beef tenderloin. Although the carver had two knives available, most people were asking for a piece of each and so he was using one knife for both. This may have been a problem for some diners with food preferences.
The desserts were amazing, so be sure to get the ones you want early. The dessert bar was kept restocked, but with a varying selection. A fruit tart that we were quite interested in was gone by the time we had dessert, which was disappointing. I had taken a piece of baklava and a slice of banana cake (both fantastic) during my "breakfast" part of the buffet, and these did not make a reappearance in the buffet after they were gone.
